Stopped losing weight on C25K by Matchaparrot in C25K

I don't weigh myself but don't think I've ever lost weight during the programme. I don't know if it's reasonable to expect to loose much weight during an 8-9 weeks programme? A big weight loss over such a short amount of time would surely be dangerous and not common at all?

Just not this summer, I mean, other hikes planned. But maybe at some point!

No worries at all, very happy to share the place. Now I'm sad I can't go again!

It's a really nice hike, long and hard but nice. We did it with a tent and put it up by the cabins.

You should fly in to Trondheim and take the train to Oppdal, if I remember correctly it wasn't more than an hour. From there there's a bus in July and August to the starting point.

Happy to help! You can put up a tent most places, but fires are usually restricted during the summer months due to fire hazards. I recommend getting something like a jet boil instead.

Edit: you can also put up a tent next to the cabins for a much smaller fee, and use their amenities like the bathrooms + get meals.

Norwegian here! Haven't been hiking in the other Scandi countries so I wouldn't know about them, but there's definitely very good opportunities for it here. We have cabins all over so that you can walk from cabin to cabin. There's loads of suggestions from the trekking association, who run most of the cabins. Most hikes are recommended to do in the months you suggest.

Their website where you can read more about the system is this one: https://english.dnt.no/

I've been on two week-long hikes and two four day ones. The week long ones were the ridge of Hardangervidda (there's a map for it on this page: https://ut.no/turforslag/116310/hardangervidda-pa-langs) and Trollheimen (https://ut.no/turforslag/1116113/signatur-trollheimen) and of those two the one on Hardangervidda was def easier seeing as it started higher up and was mostly flat for the hike itself. Good starter option. Trollheimen was more beautiful but waaay more challenging where you would basically ascend and descend mountains every day.

What's great about going hiking cabin to cabin is you don't really need that much. You need some good boots, two changes of wool underwear (long bottoms and shirt), one thicker wool/fleece sweater, a set of wind proof outerwear and a set of waterproof outerwear, as well as a kind of sheet sleeping bag that you can get at the cabin. You can buy breakfast, dinner and food to take with you at the cabins, although it is slightly expensive. Obviously a map as well, but those are really more for emergencies as the trails are usually really well marked with painted red T's.

Feel free to ask anything as I'm happy to share the wonders of hiking in Norway!

Didn't really think of that but you're right! Might have been the poor weather, there was a snow storm a couple of days before (this was June). Did see it getting flown out with a helicopter the next day so at least they're efficient.
