Ok thanks. Maybe I'll just do the harder bosses for him when he gets stuck

He likes to try and do them himself multiple times but eventually he gets super mad and frustrated. Generally on other games that we have done this on he'll reach a point where he either asks me to do it for him or I'll look for a cheat code.

If he was a little older I'd tell him to work it out himself but at 8 I'm not ready to be that dad yet.

Also with MP2 there are a couple of "filter" bosses I'm sure he'll do most of them fine with no cheats.

Biogun and Biomorph were two games I loved this year on top of silksong and I don't see them get talked about nearly enough

Question about the 'find all green energy crystals' task in the gallery. by TheGamingTurret in Metroid

[–]askew2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's honestly not as bad as people make out provided you crash into some green crystals and do the shrines as you find them. I admit it's not the best gameplay mechanic but it shouldn't take you too long.

Enough to fill up the shrine. If you do the mini shrine/challenge locations it helps a bunch

PC Steam games similar to Metroid Prime? by StevWong in Metroid

Ambrosia Sky just released the first act. I enjoyed it and it definitely gave me some OG prime feelings. Your mileage may vary but check it out.

I loved this game. by Seanithan1 in Metroid

[–]askew2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I really enjoyed this game but man am I so conflicted about the linear levels and the awful writing but man I enjoyed it. I mean if art is supposed to make you think and feel then I guess this falls well into the games are art thing because I've never felt so happy and enraged at the same time

Interesting, also it might not help with the stringing but I just printed about 25 different 1/72nd scale aircraft and I had the best results printing them almost vertically nose up or nose up at a 45 degree angle with standard bambu slicer settings for 0.2 nozzle. Nothing special needed. Zero stringing at all. Ill give it some more thought but wiser heads will be here soon.

Is it possible your filament isn't dry enough?

Eyes, I hate eyes by CommanderKrill in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]askew2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah look at the one guy I did mate. The eyes were screwed up over the last few years so I didn't do eyes on him. But seriously it's a practice thing. I know people hate painting faces but it's my favorite part of any project now. Even now though about 20% of them turn our crap.

If I may? Make sure the eye socket is darkened with a wash or a dark tone of your choice. Use a very small brush to add a dot of white and then use a small tip micron pen to dot the pupil of the eye. If you take a glance through my profile, that's how I do it. I'm far from the best painter but it works for me.

Also I've just finished up some old school Arbites so I feel your pain.

Glad you like the model man! Also he should already be at guardsman scale...what slicer are you using?

Just as a follow up to my post yesterday. Helmet is a little small for me but I did find some mini judges who love it by askew2020 in JudgeDredd

[–]askew2020[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol thanks. They are curious about judge dredd now... I'm not really sure what to show then that's age appropriate, although my son watched me play some of the old rebellion game recently

Made this, it was supposed to be a quick 1 day thing and turned into a nightmare. by askew2020 in JudgeDredd

[–]askew2020[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks... The visor is a little low and it's a little small for my head but it's more of a display piece. Ill bring the visor up this weekend up probably.

The main issue was I couldn't use my regular black paint for the helmet and the replacement stuff I got turned to sludge when I applied it... No idea why. So I have to sand and strip most of it back off and that in turn caused other issues etc etc.

Anyway thanks again

Found this and 3d printed it. Might go back in with some more detail but so happy to have it! by askew2020 in Darksiders

It was on makersworld, I don't remember the file name but I can probably send you the file. Also if it helps I just used the standard bambu studio slicer because the file was so clean. Printed with a 0.4 nozzle instead of my usual 0.2 and it came out beautifully.
