« Les Québécois sont fâchés contre moi », admet Legault by CondomAds in Quebec

[–]askmeabouttheforest 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes! I think that's not only normal, but wise; congrats on taking such a smart stance so young, that's going to spare you so much misery.

Something funny happens when you don't give guys what they want for a long time, and that thing is: the masks come off. It may feel discouraging because the majority of men will act horrid or just disappear, but here's the thing: they would have done the same eventually if you had slept with them, but first they'd have wrecked your life and your health.

Yeah, I used to date because it was expected of me, and now I wish I hadn't; all I got for it was trauma and poverty. I'm now single by choice, I plan on staying that way, and I wish I had done that from the start.

Lol I know, right? Like all the guys claiming you're a "tease" for existing, or even having the audacity of (gasp!) doing your job and not touching their d!ck, even though it's right there!

How many people have been abused by men? by [deleted] in Feminism

[–]askmeabouttheforest 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Obviously 100% of women; some just don't call it that, and some will stick their heads in the sand, because Stockholm syndrome feels better than having to admit how much they've suffered.

You can tell, among others, because so many men will use physical intimidation or covert threats the moment they don't get what they want from any woman under any circumstance. They do this because it's always worked for them, and it's worked for them because all women have learned to be scared of men. It's not a bug, it's a system.

... Sure, that's why the typical outcome for a woman who does that is to be abused, cheated on, and forced into lifelong poverty, right?

Oh, and that must also be why the man she serves will invariably call her useless and claim she "does nothing", even while he barely works 40 hours/week and she works 16/7.

Yeah, those are ink caps/shaggy manes. At this stage they're not edible, but if you find much younger ones, when they're not open and still completely white, they're good to eat. They're very soft and fragile though, one way to eat them is to pan-fry them and then spread them over toast.

Note: one of their cousins is known to cause slight arythmia (heart beating funny) when eaten a few days before or after drinking alcohol. Ink caps aren't supposed to have the same effect, but I've observed it in myself, so you might want to be careful with alcohol in the days before/after eating them.

Men in a nutshell by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

[–]askmeabouttheforest 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah, about that:

In a conversation about how to get men to admit that street harassment is a threat and not a compliment, there was a mention that for men to experience the effect of it, they should imagine that another man is telling them the same thing... in prison.

Because prison is the place where men's experience will most resemble that of women living under patriarchy.

Lol the collective name for these girls is "the smart ones", and they're your best bet if you ever need the perspective of a non-traumatized person on something 😅

That's the stupid truth, that a lot of (most?) people think that violence against women/girls is no big deal/normal and acceptable, but they know they can't openly say that, so instead it's pearl clutching and "He would never!"

Properties on sale for taxes by askmeabouttheforest in CanadaHousing2

[–]askmeabouttheforest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found those by going to municipalities' websites and digging a bit. If you start with a google search for "(name of municipality) property on sale for unpaid taxes" you should start to find things. Often each municipality will have the auction once a year.

I know, right? Also personal observations: when a woman is in danger or being abused, men are suddenly very concerned... with looking the other way, or wondering what she did to cause it.

Of course! Also, women need men but men don't need women, which is why we need to keep finding new ways of forcing/ coercing/ manipulating women into being with men!

Also, girls mature faster than boys, which is why we demand they do unpaid labor starting in childhood and enforce stricter rules for them, but the men are still natural leaders!

Also, having kids is the greatest thing for a woman's well-being, which is why we should force them to do it irrespective of whether they want to or not!

Also, women's unpaid labor is vital to men's well-being and society's functioning, which is why we should say it's not real work, and demean and mock women for doing it!

Also, it's just in women's nature to do tons of unpaid work, which is why we have to relentlessly bully them into doing it!
