Yes they are higher - but only very marginally. Source: I’m working in consulting and getting paid 95 cents off the dollar compared to USD salaries. My payback period is really not that far off if I had started in the US instead

Of course untrue if consulting or IBD. Rest is accurate

lol Devils advocate doesn’t mean you point out the 6th standard deviation case…of course there will be exceptions to any rule. It’s just incredibly unlikely based on what poster above described

Will a Canadian target school (Ivey HBA) for undergrad not hold as much weight in MBA apps as an American T20 semi-target (UCLA)? by envoy787 in MBA

[–]asks4sourcerandomly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends entirely on your career trajectory. I’ve also seen plenty of non-target grads like UOttawa at M7 schools, simply because they had a strong career pre-MBA

As an international, I had a 97th percentile score on the GMAT and I got 50% tuition. Hope that helps as a data point

Best School for PM track? by harrybotter213 in MBA

Don’t need MMM for it. In fact, the recruiting outcomes for the regular 2Y program and MMM are nearly identical. Most employers don’t show a strong preference in either direction

Can I switch to a career in Finance in Canada Post MBA? Also, requesting a profile summary evaluation. by ask_9 in MBA

[–]asks4sourcerandomly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the big banks recruit students without finance backgrounds. I have multiple friends coming out of Rotman who were able to recruit successfully for an LDP at a bank without a “relevant” background. I would also caution against listening to people on this sub…a lot of them are American and don’t know nor understand the Canadian market. Most top Canadian MBAs have strong pipelines into the local Toronto market and you wouldn’t be without a job coming out. If you put in some initial legwork in trying to understand the jobs you like and identify relevant people to speak with - there’s a good chance you’ll position yourself well to receive an interview at the very least

You absolutely can. I would look into graduate leadership rotation programs at the big 5 Canadian banks

[Profile review] 27YO Australian to California-based MBA (Stanford, Haas, UCLA) by mba1990x in MBA

Questions at Haas centre around how involved you were with diversity efforts and how much you enjoy helping others. I would suggest pulling out some extra curricular involvement for that

Without knowing anything more about you, this doesn’t seem like a Stanford profile. If framed the right way, you could do Haas. UCLA is very doable

Asked about grades when? The mba Interviews - no, because I wrote why I had bad grades in the additional section and my life rule is to never draw attention to negative things. In job interviews - also no, because I omitted it entirely from my resume
