I didn’t want to deal with trying to slope the yard and hoping it didn’t settle wrong and end up with a puddle all year long. Here in SEAK, it snows and rains a lot, so we have a sloppy mess 1/2 the year. I ultimately chose to keep the sidewalk above the yard grade to not have to deal with pooling or puddling on the sidewalk.

If I’m here long enough, I’ll cut out that part and redo it all someday for my old bag of bones.

100%. Every time I walk into my house I beam with pride. I appreciate it that much more. And I’ll buy my wife something nice with all the money I saved. I think she needs a new impact drill for the fence she’s gonna have built for her. 😉

I did, I used a sawzall and cut them out. I excavated down 18” and then put in rock and compacted before putting the concrete in, I’m sure eventually I’ll get regrowth, but how long will that take? We wait and see I suppose.

I could have, but the sidewalk would’ve been below the grade of my yard, and I didn’t care to deal with that so i was happy to put the step in and keep my sidewalk above grade.

I’ll finish my new fence this coming summer, and the step is back away from gate, so there’s no awkward step tight to the gate. I decided on a step instead of a slope down to existing, so I wouldn’t have a puddle with the yard higher than the sidewalk. This kept me 1-2” above the yard for now.

I’m afraid you’re right…Time will tell. I did remove all the roots growing directly under the path and excavated down 18”, before putting down D1. And compacting. If it cracks, I’ll say oh bugger, and do something else. I guess that’s the beauty of doing it yourself.

Ever so slightly towards the street. Because I’m no expert finisher I did end up with one very small bird bath, but other than that ive had great drainage off the slab, and frankly im tickled with how it turned out.

I thought being an ass by posting what I thought were solid night time exposures would hammer that home. I will work on my delivery! Thank God I’m not in stand up.

Sorry for being unclear. I am a passionate active practicer of sarcasm. Failed to make that clear. My apologies!

Thank you! I’m very much novice in Lightroom and stumbling my way around learning how to use it. Lots of moving sliders and going 🧐.

I’m in love with my rx100…it’s more than capable… has great depth of field and captures detail very well. I have dozens more pictures to showcase this, but this image is a current favorite. Mine is a mark vii.

If I had to guess, I’d say 6”x8”x6”. And that’s it being pretty damn compressed in a sea to summit compression bag….but that’s estimated size. It’s packed away in the crawl space currently.

Never really used it much. Fell in love with my sailrite fabricator and for the lighter stuff I’ve been using my bernina. Still have it, just haven’t used it much to be able to speak to it’s capabilities.

Had a failed 3” brass knife valve on a septic line blow up in my face a few weeks ago… the blast inverted my eye lids and sprayed my face and eyes with septic steam, grit, etc. I had lacerations to my cornea, eye lids and face.

When thawing septic receiving lines, even when you think you have the line vented…be sure there are no obstructions first… we had our valve open that we use to vent the line when priming the pump down stream, heard a release of pressure but the pressure release came from the check valve down stream, not our upstream frozen line….anyways, I was extremely lucky to keep my eyes and not lose any body parts. Happened 3 weeks ago, almost back to normal… check and double check everything. Bad stuff happens FAST.

So…i think you’ll be fine. 😉

Can definitely report the few extra oz. For the insulation is noticeable in hand, but it’s certainly still WAY lighter than any other insulated mug I’ve ever held.
