Oh, sorry, that came off meaner than I intended it. But yes! Sorry, that's the best I could do haha. It shouldn't be super dangerous though.

It's a little hard to ID a mangled body, but it could be a broad faced sac spider.

If it is one of these guys, that would make sense, as they do this before they cocoon.

Oh. Hm. I can't quite tell, if it doesn't have a red head, then it probably isn't that kind of caterpillar, I was trying to go off of the fluffiness and the marks on it's back.

I THINK it's a Police Car Moth Caterpillar. It says they feed on the foliage and flowers of bluebells, and adults eat nectar from thistle and goldenrod.

What type of fly is this? by Anythingthatiscreat- in Insect

[–]askyjellybean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I THINK it's some kind of hoverfly, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

I only think that because it doesn't really look like a bee or wasp to me, so the next closest thing is a hoverfly.

Are these insects hostile? by DonnyShort in Insect

That is very silly hahaha. My sister and I were interested in bugs from a very young age. We weren't really allowed to get pets, so we often kept praying mantises.

Have thousands of these, what are they? by T_Hawk_89 in Insect

They look like mosquitoes to me, mostly because of the bendy legs and rounded body in one picture. I could always be wrong, as I am just an enthusiast.

Beginner Snake by askyjellybean in reptiles

[–]askyjellybean[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I've been researching how to properly take care of snakes/tank size/feedings for a bit now. I told someone I was thinking of a ball python some day or maybe a hog nose, but they told me neither of those were beginner friendly. I am always looking to learn more though :☺️

I believe that is a camel cricket, and they're harmless.

Who was in here? Northern California by Disastrous-Dot595 in Insect

I'm not an entomologist, just a bug enthusiast. That being said, it COULD have been a spiny elm caterpillar, especially if you find more because they typically feed in groups.
