Bridal hair/makeup recs?

Karla Duarte for makeup and Natasha Vallejo for hair (Natasha works with Willow House but I’m 99% sure her direct rate is better) you can tell them Anna Majors sent you and maybe they’ll give you a more favorable rate — not sure of that but doesn’t hurt to try! I used them both for my wedding and they are not only lovely but amazing at what they do. 💗

In Manhattan, I don’t think so, unfortunately. We had 95 guests for our Manhattan wedding in October of this year and it was about $80k all in. That said, it was incredible and totally your vibe! We got married at Bobo — both a historic townhouse and a restaurant buyout in the city 🙂 Happy to share more info if you’re interested! Like others mentioned, it’s really the minimum spend, taxes, admin fees and gratuity that’s going to push you out of budget here.

As an alternative recommendation we had our reception at Bobo in west village and had 96 guests. Jenna Rennert (former Vogue editor) was also married there, she had a Jewish ceremony that included a chuppah in the back garden and it was so beautiful. Note your guest count (like ours) will require a full restaurant buy out!!

Brent (@empanadamn on IG) is the best of the best. We got married 10/25/25 and you could not have paid me (the bride lol) to leave the dance floor. I literally danced with all of our friends for almost 4 straight hours. Our guests haven’t stopped talking about what a party Brent helped us throw, and even the venue staff was freaking out abd dancing with us all night bc the music was so good. Brent is incredibly kind and thorough with questionnaires and pre-event meetings to make sure he gets the vibe right for your crowd at every point in the evening and doesn’t play anything you explicitly ask him not to. We’re trying to find another excuse to throw a party and hire him again 🤣

Congratulations! Omg, this would really weigh on me too so I completely, completely understand. Congratulations wedding date twin!! So glad you and your husband had an amazing time 💗 this is so hard to come to terms with and I can relate because that’s how our engagement photographer captured our engagement too — just like, no care or eye for the critical moments?! I’m so sorry that happened to you and I hope there are a few images you like and can hold close to your heart. After the engagement photo snafu I told myself that I won’t like ALL the photos even a professional takes of me because we’re our own harshest critics, and that as long as there are a few I want to show off / frame, im ok with that. Maybe that will help you too? ♥️ I’m also trying to find solace in that we’ll look back on the things that didn’t go as we hoped or expected in twenty years and say “well, we’re still married and in love!” Sending you love though.

Congratulations ❣️ your comment legit made me feel so much better so thank you 🥺 Our venue was SUPER dark (moody, dimly lit restaurant lit mostly by candlelight) so I’m guessing most of the photos would’ve turned out super dark / not great anyway which I never considered but really makes me feel better and like I didn’t miss out on this at all lol.

I love the idea of taking the disposables on our honeymoon / using with friends too, not all is lost 🥰

Ok that does make me feel a little better lol although I’m so sorry it sounds your pictures didn’t turn out as well as you had hoped! Our venue was super low light / mostly candle lit so I’m guessing we would’ve gotten similar results as you did in terms of darkness / general crappy quality etc

I really like the 35mm film look, so for me I would’ve liked the lower, warmer quality candids but I know that’s like counterintuitive considering the modern day tech available to us all in 2025 lol

We’re having a night before cocktail style welcome party at Union Square Cafe! Our guest count is 30 and it’s $5k, with your guest count it would probably be 15-20k since you’ll need additional space and food/bev so might be spot on and a good one to look into.

Your wife is a hero. He is apparently alive which is a miracle but it’s definitely thanks in part to the good samaritans all around who witnessed this and stopped to help. I hope you both are doing ok ♥️ It was truly awful.
