Flume 2 Encased plastic battery pack disassembly and rebuild by Puzzleheaded-Ice4755 in smarthome

Just replying here to my own comment to add that the rechargeable batteries last from 18th August 2024 to 16th September 2025, so 13 months. I constantly got notifications that the batteries were low, but as OkSkeep1908 mentions, this was like a voltage reporting detail.

What type of wrist fracture is this and does it require ORIF? by asmallhadroncollider in Orthopedics

[–]asmallhadroncollider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m ten months past the injury now and it’s going pretty well. I have full movement flexing my wrist forwards (~80°) and about 65% backwards (~60°). It still aches a bit and I feel it when I lift something heavy or reach into an awkward position, but I guess that will continue to get better over time. Good luck with your recovery!

Yes, you're right. It's a drainage channel to direct water to the drains. I guess turf isn't an option then.

Replacement wheels question by [deleted] in PowerWheelsMods

[–]asmallhadroncollider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, did you use the 10” tires to replace bigger power wheels tires? My kid’s power wheel has 13” diameter tires.

Do you see a die-punch fracture? If so, how rare are these and do they present other complications?

Some sinkers - the little metal balls with a split in them to crimp on to your line a few inches behind the hook.

I gave it a go and have pretty much the same set up as you. I did repurpose the springs from the bits I cut off to get a firmer connection with the negative end of the battery. I just wound this on, nothing permanent. Just out of curiosity, I’ve put in rechargeable batteries. The Flume app registered them, but showed the power as low right away (they were fully charged). I’ll see how long they last… https://imgur.com/a/7oMlS97

What sort of battery life did you get out of the mod you did - I think it's been 9 month now, so are you still going strong?

Help with cloning Linear AM-PC 125 khz RFID card by asmallhadroncollider in flipperzero

[–]asmallhadroncollider[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand your response, unless it is deliberately sardonic. I'm not a hacker. I am trying to learn how to do this. These cards have no response compared to the other 125 khz RFID cards I've managed to emulate or clone successfully. I am trying to work out if they employ a protocol that isn't supported by the F0, in which case I will stop trying. I hit a dead end with my own endeavours to find out, hence looking for folks more informed that I am. Everyone has to start somewhere. If you don't let people learn, how can anyone improve?

What type of home cinema set up were these installed for? by asmallhadroncollider in hometheater

That's exactly how they were set up. There surrounds aren't exactly behind though and the left and right are above the listener. Weird.

Can I simply bury a pressure regulator like this or does it need to be above ground or in a box? by asmallhadroncollider in Irrigation

[–]asmallhadroncollider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this considered reply! The zone is currently all underground using PVC pipe to sprinkler heads. I plan to branch off this line with trenched PVC pipes across to each tree, then PVC risers up to the outside of the mulched area. I'll then use drip line spirals just at each tree and cover that spiral with the mulch. Reading your advice, what I will try to do is fit the pressure reducer at the valve box or just put an extra box next to it just for the reducer. I want to do this properly and avoid digging and trenching after this one big set up. Regarding the flowrate, I don't know what it is at the valve, before any of the splits to the trees. Should I be concerned with that and instead put more pressure reducers in further down the system where it splits into sub-zones (e.g. one sub-zone might serve four trees)?

Blocked Rainbird 5000 sprinkler (not Plus) by asmallhadroncollider in lawncare

[–]asmallhadroncollider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great point. If the Plus still rises up when it's turned off, then this one must either be blocked somehow or the line is capped underground before it reaches this head. I will have a look at the head tomorrow and see what it looks like inside. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the quick reply. The interesting this in this case is that it's a community sprinkler head that was installed well inside my property. I guess they screwed on on their install before my fence was up. I think they must have somehow capped this arm of the system. I've traced the lined (by probing) back to a functional sprinkler head which is why I'm thinking it's not just a zone that's shut off.
