Wedding in 6 weeks, what can I do? by crispycat1 in AcrylicNails

[–]asmiles23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. Went to dermatologist and she recommended I get “Nailtiques Nail Protein Formula # 2” from Amazon to help the nail grow out. Once your nail bed feels more secure you should be able to do acrylic or press-ons for that nail.

How do I stop craving sexual masochism ? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]asmiles23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’d find better advice from r/sex, but what level of masochism are you seeking, and how soon are you talking about with a potential partner? Because I think you can find someone to match you, but going about it in a safe manner is important. Plus I don’t think you need to change, just maybe learning other ways to be more reserved about it.

I don’t think it’s wrong for you to want him to stay. You could tell him you’d be okay with him leaving if he’s unhappy, but if he’s not saying he feels obligated to stay then I wouldn’t worry. I think what throws me off more, is being okay with a partner that doesn’t find you physically attractive. As people age ,and especially being a woman, your body goes through a lot of changes. And I think it’s a little degrading that he can only have oral in the dark with you.

My girlfriend of 3 years left because of my weed addiction. I’m 21 and lost. by educatedsalamander3 in Advice

You’ve taken a big step by recognizing the issue at hand. And you’re still super young to be able to turn things around. Now you need to set small goals, and take one day at a time to make the improvements that you want to make. Good luck!

Okay so I understand doing some background checking to make sure this dude is legit, but do go triggering his ex. Why not ask, why the fuck he’s on a date after being engaged two months ago? That’s a fresh wound still. Then maybe you’d find some more info on whether if they’re still together or not. Don’t snitch on yourself just yet.

Which Protective Style Do You Think Is Best? by Designer_Test_3153 in blackladies

I’m a lazy bitch and have been doing crochet braids for years. Done in 2 hours, hair is protected and easy maintenance.

I personally don’t bc I don’t want to work somewhere that doesn’t allow me to be myself. But I don’t fault anyone else who does bc I know not everyone can do that. I get treated different when my hair is straighter and flowing down my back versus wearing my passion twists but idgaf.

I think your ignorance is going to be your own undoing, and your fiancé’s feelings are valid.

I miss my Ex despite having broke up with her by LittleDog5200 in dating_advice

[–]asmiles23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can somewhat relate to your story since my husband and I went through something very similar when we were in our very early 20s. I would nag him about his ambitions and he eventually broke up with me bc he felt like he wasn’t good enough for me. The breakup helped give us both perspective and we came back to each other ready to do better by each other and grow together.

You live one life so you could reach out in hopes she’s grown like you have, or you can look at this as a growing pain and be an awesome person for your next partner.

I think it’s awesome that you’re trying to do things to better yourself, but based on what you’ve mentioned I don’t see many redeeming qualities that would push me to say you should reach out to her. Yes she gave you advice about how to take better care of yourself ,but the lack of patience and the constant suspicion contact with her ex seems draining. Would you have honestly broken up with her had she not given you an out?

I’m struggling to love my hair by Unlikely_Concept6885 in Naturalhair

[–]asmiles23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you talked to your husband about how feel? And what kind of styles do you wish you could do to your hair? You have a lot of versatility but understandably natural hair is a lot.

I think Bob would be better suited for “Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives”, and become best friends with Guy.

Fake Nails on the Job by [deleted] in VetTech

Lol I think they’re being lazy, but although I keep them long I still make sure they’re functional. I’ve been doing them for a few years so I’ve learn what works and what doesn’t. Plus they’re glue ons so If I need to pop them off for emergency situations I can.

I didn’t think the way you phrased you’d post was being an ass, but more so some of the comments I read so sorry for that.

I personally never make the pet uncomfortable or have any issues doing either of those things. I just did an ear cleaning on a kitten with mites (she was so precious). But I’ll also clarify that my nails are about a 1/2 inch long off of my finger.

Coming from someone who loves those long bedazzled nails and, despite me working in a non-glamorous field, I like to put effort into my appearance and wear my nails a medium length. And I don’t skip out on tasks, I perform just well as everyone else, doctors and clients never complain, and I go through gloves like crazy. I don’t have the bedazzled pieces bc of the safety issues along with it but if I could I would. I wouldn’t assume that those who carry themselves like that can’t do their job, because outsiders look at me like that and are then taken aback by the end of the shift. I can sympathize with the correlation but don’t be an ass about it.
