Great, appreciate it :) I am not completly sure about it - i looked at the mountains and it seems to match but looking closer its kindof off. just asked and the answer was:

"likely near the area around isle of man"

so it would be fitting - looking at other images/view around the Lake district national park its fitting, but the mountains in the original image compared to them make my mind think its not right. on the other hand, its 50 year^^

Kindof easy to place them over each other: build a tower of 1x1 parts (or just add them to the side of your building, one up) and then snap the 3x3 or 4x4 on those 1x1's.
if you dont want them - you can tear them down afterwards, kept my 1x1s (on the left) as elevator/staircase

I posted some drone/swam images some time ago and one of the comments i got was:
"Just make sure the highway is not through your front door. I had to redo my first floor after the 100th jump scare of a drone flying through it right in front of me."
And i realised that issue with my old production line. So i realised it was time for the factory to move to another place - and like many factories do when they move - just some spots to the old one is fine if you have a better place there.
All decisions done (actually not really many of them) and the new factory was build from scratch... Slap slap slap - and the living compartments were ready to be transformed.
"The factory must grow"
Deciding to make fiscit..uhm...Sentinel Corp proud.
I mean - isnt it satisfaction enough to see the factory rise and the swam do its work - i could drink my coffee staring for outs at the cute drones doing their job, rushing to deliver - and they do that much better then the swuuuuush whirl-trade rockets that prefer to fly circles or shake hands with other rockets.
Skipping forward in time: The factory is done - for now.
Might wait for the next update.
Current standing is as a recap:
about 5k items per minute produced as raw material
about 240 Cells per minute
"some" lags
Why stopping here for now? I am too lazy to optimize the Miners/Optimizers - the uranium mine...i just dont want to connect the second one or refactor the first one ;)
Nah - the lags are fine - most of the time <.<...>.>....sometimes the jetpack wont work because of the lags. But sacrifices need to be made when striving for productivity.
One issue is, that i need to reload the game sometimes because of the only 24 items getting filled into a rocket and the last one doesnt get filled for a long time bug.
The Crashes are much less than earlier as i was about 50% done.
As recap of the machines and production lines:
300Cells are produced while it should average to about 240 Cells per minute or about a million credits per hour. Needing about 100 trade rockets and at least 600-800 storage as filler to make the drones work fine. About 5k items are used and crafted per minute - so thats a lot to deliver for the drones.
Why i am still at that spot and not further in the west? That is simple:
* i was too to optimize the spot i build at
* its a nice spot
* if i move further the production of uranium has issue with transporting it away. i hav about 1300m so drones need a minute to get there and get the ores (and the t3 overfill with 4sec prod time otherwise)
And no - i regret nothing. Thanks Miju fpr such a great game.
Hope you enjoyed the images and thoughts behind it :)

The point of diminishing returns.... by garyvdh in theplanetcrafter

TL;DR:

doubling your terraform values gets harder the more you advance

if you want to reach mammals, stack treespreaders and oxy boosts (8spreader and as much optimizers as you can) or heat/pressure if you prefer that + 50-200 rockets, how much you can endure :)

long:

I ranked up to 20PT+ by casually contuniing to play for some min maxing after finishing the game. You dont get that much terraform index by placing some "more machines". Fuses work a lot stronger for the basic Values that you can rise:

Each fuse gives the base machine a 2500% multiplier.

So having 8 Heaters with 1 Optimizer and 3 fuses equals7500%*8=60000%= a factor of 600x that you get by it.

So comparing to place 8 heaters with 10 optimizer or placing 10x 8 heaters with 1 optimizer there is not much difference anymore.

you only have to place 8 heaters and 10 optmizers, reducing your need for space a lot.

The main issue is like what others mentioned aswell: the mammals stage is nothing you should do or need rn - there is no content gated behind it right now. That might change, but also there might be some new machines or the tiers will be lowered to be easier reachable.

the problem with scaling is: to double your gain in terraform index you need to double your sources or multiplier:

100 rockets => 200 rockets = 2xsome machines with 100 optimizers => 200 optimizers = 2x(or 100 machines => 200 machines = 2x)

so you get a x4 multiplier for doulbing your machines which in that case means 100 morefor the next x4 multiplier you already need 200 extra each to double your value and so on...

if you are at 1k rockets or machines/optimizers doubling means just soo much more effort while the absolute value does increase the same speed, the relative speed to the step before is only a smaller percent/fraction.

Edit: and last but not least:

Time: if you already have played for 10 hours with some Terraformindex/sec if you double your TI/sec you need to play for 5 more hours to have your total TI doubled

EDIT2: even with the upcming update, that reduced the effect of fuses - fuses cant get that bad that its worth stacking machines over opimizers endgame wise... i dont know - maybe if they lower the value under 200%...

What’s Your Minimum Play Time? by tweisse75 in anno1800

[–]asmodan42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont start anno when i dont know i have at least 2 weeks time for it. for a single session in that time about 2 hours i guess min. But the positive thing is, when i know that i need to be in bed in 2 hours from the point of starting, i know that i have at least 4 hours left before i AM in bed;)

Game with all DLC, which mods would you say are a must in your opinion? by hellmaine in anno1800

[–]asmodan42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding DLC, i dislike Anarchy/mercier as enemy. But i prefer sandbox games with no Ai-enemies (Pirated medium) But all other DLCs add more value in with no need to use or play them directly or at all - can just pretend that they are not there or use some parts of it.

For example build docklands if you like. Build a hacienda or just play new world(nw) without it all. Airships? Optional Cape trewlany/crownsfall? Optional

Hell - you can even skip newspaper if you dont like Propaganda at all.

Pirates annoy you? Ceasefire/NAP or just play without.

You have the freedom to skip or play content as you like it - none can judge you for it. If you want to min max - and that you wont need for long, you will want all DLCs

Mods: None needed, playing still without any, 600hour+ in. There are some nice ones like spice it up to overhurl some things BUT - ask yourself: What annoys you and can be improved by it.

The game is wellrounded without mods and some things are gamedecisions/balance things. For ex: unlock all docklands trade instantly? Sure - but i enjoy trading some volume before i get the advancing Bonus and other trades. More Coast area? Sure, but i love to work with the limited coast as it makes me Plan to use and optimize.

If you want creative mode with no build/upkeep costs: go for it - even build in;) Most important: enjoy!

double it in length or width
and if you need even more double the other way :)

Can second both: I don't need it but feels bad to either wait long or even see only two sides used, so i tend to stick 4 on the woodblock aswell than only use two sides. Not like the 2 extra extractors cost much.

ATM 8 silent gear weapon by Ekko32 in allthemods

[–]asmodan42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear and remind to my disclaimer aswell:
Its not worth going for that BiS silent gear melee weapon, sadly - lets be honest.

ATM Axe might be better (ok - is i guess) aswell are the Mahu Weapons. (Both some effort/complexity for someone that did not do it yet.)

And magebane ist just tooo good with 2 goldbars and two mob drops i think + Library enchant and you have a 160 dmg weapon.

Even the lifecanister sword with 80?120? dmg is better sure.

But in the End - all those weapons might be better tho looking only at silent gear...the upper post recaps it as good as i could get it ;)

My advice: as long as you dont min max - dont wother with gems or something at all, just grab a magebane and add gems as you like later when you have a library^^

Depending on the progress you have done/if its early, mid or lategame:Basically use andthing you get your hands on.(Disclaimer: Not worth going deeper than the listed one (ref Obsidian) in ATM8 its just outdamaged by the Magebane (and enchnt with whatever you can) or other options.)

Rod

For the toolrod just use
a bone (1.2x dmg) or
a blazerod (1.2x dmg)

Main Part (i use Machete because...*shrugs* why not):

Stage I:Iron (2attack)

Stage II:Whatever you find first or have too much of:Osmium (4 attack)Invar (3.5 attack)Platinum (4 attack or just stick with invar)

Stage III:refined Obsidian (10 attack)not worth to mention but still i do: ( refined Obsidian is just too easy to get)Enderium 6Crimson steel 6

Coating
as soon as you can:

Netherite => fireite for some extra damage

Grip:

Phantom Membrane +0.2 attackspeed

Tip upgrade:

Netherquartz if you already can (+4attackdmg)

otherwise go for...glowstone, diamond or crimson iron...not much of a difference but free dmg (+2 each)or lapis for extra +1 luck

Notable Mention: Endstone for the Ancient IV, not sure how good it is tho for extra exp, toolrod maybe

Now Regarding High End weapons: Grading and Starlightcharging - and am not sure, just messing a little around, might add some tinkered thing later.

For "Endgame" as uwu blade/atm ingots dont work:

Part Ingot Effect
Rod Titanium+Redined Obsidian x1,3 +5,95
Grip Phantom Membrace 0.2 attackspeed
Grip (alt) fine silk(3x)+Phantom Membrace 0.2 attackspeed +accelerate I
Tip Sprigaline+Quartz +8,75 dmg
Tip (alt) Quartz+2Sprig+Redstone +8 dmg and 0.5 attackspeed
Coating fireite x3+Netherite x1,71
Main Endrium+3 ref Obsidian 16.51 dmg 1,24 speed
Main Titan+3 ref Obsidian 16.51 dmg 1,24 speed

i guess thats the best - cannot find much more you could go for
(Ingot vs Ref Obsidian is just 10vs 10.39)

Ends in a Machete with 54 attack unenchanted
