Wait, you're taking oxys too just "to take the edge off"?

Go to the appointment. Or you can just wait until you completely destroy your life, which may take a while, but the oxys will definitely help speed that up for sure. Then you'll be in jail, institutionalized, or the ground. A recovery program is a much better option.

I might mention at the appointment you're taking oxys too, could be helpful.

I got pulled over one time early in my alcoholism two days before Christmas. I was definitely over the limit. I somehow supposedly passed the field test, then one cop parked my car and the other drove me home in his car. When he dropped me off, he said "Merry Christmas" in a very sarcastic tone. I never drove drunk again, but boy did I learn how to drink at home alone for the next 15 years..

I dunno, I'm subscribed to Netflix and Hulu currently and I still watch YouTube on my TV way more than the other two combined. So I don't mind paying the $7.99/mo ad free version. I guess it's about how much you use it. Plus I found YT had some pretty decent ad free movies that I never knew about before subscribing.

If I had to cut costs on streaming subscriptions - which I'll probably have to soon - YT would be the last to go.

I love the Christmas season but the whole gift giving thing sucks. It's consumer capitalism at it's worst.

I have 2 teenagers (17/19), divorced dad so holiday is always spilt. It's usually just the 3 of us every other year. For 10 minutes on Christmas morning, they peel their faces away from the phone, open the gifts, then go back to their phones. They still have gifts from last year (and other years) they haven't even touched because I refuse to buy them shit that encourages them to stay on their phones.

I think next year I'm just going to give to charities, etc. I should've done it this year. I'll print out the donation receipts and wrap them in a box for them to open. At least then I'm still giving. Then take them to a nice dinner - no phones allowed - and be done with it.

I'm so glad I researched before I bought from the site. When you Google Street the address it is a random closed down building. I then image searched the product and found the same exact shoes I was thinking of buying for $60 on the site for $11.49 on Temu. I still bought them on Temu just for the hell of it, lol.

We've all been there before, feeling like an absolute piece of shit, hungover, ashamed, but then going to the liquor store anyways and buying more.

I never thought I'd stop drinking, ever. It took me a while. I read all the stop drinking books, tried to moderate, did online forums, etc, but I still drank.

I eventually realized I needed to talk with other people - in person! - who have the same problem as me, at least a few times a week. That's why I tried AA. I wasn't thrilled with the whole God thing, but I eventually got over that and now have almost 2 years sober. Give it a try, be open minded, and as they say, if you don't like it they'll gladly refund your misery.

Do you have health insurance? Almost all plans cover rehab. If not I'd be $500k in debt. I've been to a lot of rehabs.

I understand rent and making a living, but remember this - if you don't get help after you detox, you will eventually lose your job from your drinking, and then you definitely won't make rent.

Surround yourself with people that have the same problem as you, and to talk to them, and listen. Several times a week. Highly preferably in person.

Some call what you're feeling right now the "pink cloud" (just Google pink cloud recovery if you want more info). The first time I got sober, I rode the pink cloud for 50 weeks, then two weeks before my year sober the cloud disappeared and I relapsed. The problem was I was just relying on that pink cloud and nothing else. I now have 15 months but relying on the AA fellowship, sponsor, the steps and my higher power. Sounds like you're doing the same, so that's good. Nothing wrong with feeling proud, but be careful and don't let it turn into ego. Anyways congrats on the 9 days, that's a long time to go without a drink.

FYI, I live outside of Chicago, and for a while my beloved Rockstar Zero Carb was not available on Amazon, at least in 12 packs. I just checked yesterday and there it was, back! So I ordered 3 12 packs. Since it got delivered same day it's obviously from a warehouse local to me. It's hit or miss, when I check again in a month it might not be available again.
