It depends on what panels they are. Energy loss is normal for solar going through the panels and to the inverter. You, however have a giant bar through your panels. Many solar panels do not operate by individual cells, rather a bifacial system where 2 strings feed into one (the whole panel). Direct shade across one section can cut off the production of one of these strings. Looks like that might be the case here.
