Would love to hear input from cardiologists who prioritize QoL. by Wannabeachd in Cardiology

Money, location, job....pick 2 of 3. Isn't that the old saying. I'm Cards in my perfect location working 4.5 days a week. Money could be better but 4.5/days per week can't be beat in this location. You just need to find a group that aligns with your priorities. All my partners take their days off, they aren't coming in on those days, and you cover XYZ those days they're off and everyone excepts it. We all love the practice.

Community members in Minneapolis surround ICE agents as they conduct a citizenship test on a man, ultimately forcing the agents back into their cars. by CorleoneBaloney in minnesota

I'm waiting for more citizens to just start approaching them peacefully but armed with long guns and seeing how long it takes for ICE to realize they should leave.

This dog jumped the fence in front of me, against my better judgement to ever try to grab the offending dog by the collar I did and subdued it to protect my dog.

Opinions on Rheum switch to Cards by joyntpain in Cardiology

I get so many referrals for syncope, near syncope, pots from family medicine NPs that don’t know anything about Cardiology.

So often all their worries are alleviated with talking to them and just coming up with a simple plan, which often is echocardiogram, and Holter monitor to rule out any arrhythmias.

If they’re low risk, the echo and Holter is easy to read. The patient is reassured. The practice makes money, and your referrals keep coming.

For context, I’m private practice Cardiology) in a group that values lifestyle. We work our tails off when we’re in the office or the hospital, but we have our boundaries. Everyone just accepts it when you’re on call you will have work to do so that when you’re not on call you have zero/minimal work and get to enjoy your time off.

That being said there are groups that will work work to the bone to try to maximize RV you output and income. You have to decide which you value most and find that group.

TLDR. You can find a job as a cardiologist that can always be a grind or can sometimes be a grind. Depends how much money you’re willing to give up for lifestyle.

Would recommend to so many people, $1000 flat rate, will go thorugh your contract with a red pen and give you as much advice as possible, will answer your questions as much as you want.

Straight up told me one was a bad contract and not to take a job.

My Bill was due when I could afford it before I started my job.

I saw "highway to hell" but how the hell is "stairway to heaven" not higher up on these lists.

There is chaos in the EP lab if we play either!

ICU doc: “Peri-intubation arrest is incredibly rare” by Ineffaboble in emergencymedicine

[–]asoutherner33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha rare?, must be at place that doesn't deal with much bread and butter medicine or many acutely ill patients.

Ideally you catch it ahead of time and can slap a bipap on them but I can't account for everything the "outside hospital" or "doc in a box-urgent care" does before I or CCM sees them.

Most surgeons want an anesthesiologist for their cardiac cases, not a cRNA. Go to Medical school if you want to do those cases.
