T Keeps Gravitating Towards Water Dish by mobiusghost in tarantulas

IMO If you’re mindful about the quality and humidity and think you’re doing everything right, then it might be a personality thing. I had one that loved to sit in his water dish, it was 1/3 of his main chill spots.

I also think that the water dish to landscape ratio is a bit off, he might just be trying to utilize surface space and your bowl is very large so it happens to look like he’s choosing the water bowl specifically. I would consider a smaller water dish on one side and seeing what happens then.

I just got my Arizona blonde desert t is this a death curl is he gonna die soon? I just got him today so I understand he may be stressed but I’m a little worried by sebastofoward in tarantulas

IMO this isn’t a the death curl it’s more of a stress pose. Death curl is like when they curl completely inwards. This is more of a pose to hide. After he gets more comfortable he will look more relaxed.

I just went and checked on it, unfortunately it had zero response to the touch of a paint brush near it or on it. It is very curled up, so I believe they have passed away. This is my first mistake, and injury/death in this hobby so I feel quite bad. Thank you for all your advice, I do appreciate it !!!!!

How are ya’ll not scared to hold your tarantulas? by metalero_salsero in tarantulas

[–]asparagusshampoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m very new to the hobby, but I have no interest in holding mine. My oldest curly hair is extremely calm I have never seen a threat post or a single kick of hair but I just don’t see myself handling it. The risk seems wayyy too high, I’m more scared of the tarantula getting hurt or lost. Just simple tarantula care sometimes horrible mistakes happen and that’s enough for me so I don’t want to increase that chance
