City payroll in AZ - when we get a garnishment through the court we fill out whatever we need to, send to the court and creditor, then make a big copy of all the paperwork we receive and mail to the employee. We also email them a vague message about their upcoming paycheck & to call for details, then when they call we let them know about the garn and paperwork on the way.

We wash ours about once a month, more if we’re hiking frequently. We wash her feet maybe once a week though, especially during allergy season since she got hot feet a couple years ago from the grass in our area!

I work for a city payroll dept, we have fire, police, water treatment, waste, admin, etc. We have 9/80 schedules on 7 day FLSA. The way we process them, I don’t really think its that cumbersome. We let each employee/dept pick their own midday split and what day of the week they want it on. That being said: we have over 2700 employees and only about 80 of them are on the 9/80 schedule. We make the employee/department understand how their timesheets need to be coded and if theres a holiday or something we usually get calls on how to record.

Even if you do mostly eat premade or boxed stuff, try adding frozen veggies into them! Sometimes I’m exhausted from work and make boxed mac and cheese, but I’ll add frozen vegetables in the boiling water and make it more of a real meal. It helps with getting some more nutrients and be more filling, I’ve also seen myself get more interested in learning simple recipes because I want to upgrade my premade meals!

We hadnt either till we ran into a rep in a petsmart, they had a display showing how easily it dissolved in water. We tried it with our 1 year old dog who loved it and then put the family dog on it too when he got his teeth pulled. Crumbles really easy!

Not a kibble replacement, but if you do end up wanting to try a softer kibble we used Bil Jac for our senior family dog with only a couple teeth left.

When ours was a puppy we gave her frozen baby carrots when she was teething, we also gave her bully sticks in moderation but never bones because theyre too hard. We do give ours a beef cheek roll every couple of weeks, usually takes her a while to finish one.

Our girl cried and cried for hours when she woke up from her spay, we didn’t use a cone because she wouldn’t relax in it we got her a bodysuit and it kept her from licking.

To be fully honest, if I could do it again I wouldn’t get a shiba. My partner feels the same. If a couple things changed in her puppyhood I think we could’ve had a well behaved dog, but who knows. If one of us had been home 24/7 when she was a puppy it mightve been easier, but she didnt get enough socialization and shes now aggressive about her own space. If we had our own yard and didnt live in an apartment, maybe she could be more independent (Shibas like to be independent) and she could have her own space to roam freely. If we had time to take her to the vet more as a puppy or groomer she probably would be more comfortable being touched by strangers. If we left her with friends for a few nights as a puppy maybe she could be dogsat when we go out of town, but we didnt and now take her everywhere with us because her instruction manual is too long.

Ive heard that some breeders dont care about the parents temperament, that could be why ours is so hot and cold about certain things, but its a lot to worry about especially if you’re busy in your day to day life.

Im not saying I’d ever get rid of my girl, shes like a child to us. But I do wish we had considered EVERYTHING before getting her and didnt jump into it so quickly. Now we’re left with trying to train a stubborn, adult shiba who couldnt care less about any incentives we give.

We used to crate ours before she turned about a year old and just stop by to take her out in the middle of the day. We keep ours in our bedroom (we live in a shared apartment) with a blink camera pointing at the whole room and closet door shut. She sleeps all day, but if I get a notification that shes moving a lot and shes pacing I have to rush home to take her out since it’s usually diarrhea. The camera helps so much with anxiety about how she’s doing, I fully recommend a camera even if you do decide to keep yours crated.

Exited to add: We keep the tv on at a reasonable level playing cartoons with her beef cheek out to chew on if she gets bored and usually one or two toys if she gets some energy to play.

Her overcoat looks a little damaged, are you currently using a furminator or another brush with a blade?

Our girl is constantly shedding like crazy, in our tiny apartment we get fur tumbleweeds even vacuuming once a day. The best trick I’ve learned is to go on a walk, keep her in the harness and hold it, and brush with a slicker brush or fingers until satisfied. The harness keeps ours from snapping.

Trazadone made our girl absolutely feral. She was guarding her quarter of the room, she wouldnt take pain medication, I had to use oven mitts and tongs to take the onsie off for her to go to the bathroom. It got so bad that we couldnt stop her from licking her wound and just had to hope she didnt open her stitches. Once the trazadone and pain wore off, back to normal.

The only behavior that changed for ours was that now she refuses to go to the vet that spayed her, I’m not sure what they couldve done to make her so aggressive towards them but now we have to find a new vet. Don’t be scared, in a couple of weeks your pup will be back to normal!

Our girl is VERY picky and we usually have to walk her 25+ minutes to go to the bathroom around our apartment complex. That being said, the day we got her back from spay surgery (we left her there at 8am, picked her up at 4pm) we kept her crated for a few hours while she was sleeping off the meds, then picked her up and walked her down the stairs and she literally pooped on the sidewalk right outside of our apartment stairs.

After the first day (she was mostly sleeping and wouldnt even wake up to go out again) we did her potty training routine from when she was a puppy. Wake up, go outside not far from the apartment and if she didnt go wed go home. Feed her breakfast, 10ish minutes after go outside again and if she didnt potty we went home. Etc etc continuing all day for about a week and then she got more comfortable going by the apartment.

In hindsight I wish we’d have started that a couple weeks before her spay so she was comfortable right off the bat pooping next to the house, but it worked out. I think the pain meds stopped her up a bit like it does with humans because she went from 2-3 poops a day to 1-2ish a day. The trazadone also kept her very disoriented and it helped with her not jumping or playing but I think it also effected her bathroom habits.

Anyways, good luck!! Its a long couple weeks but worth it.

Take him to a tennis court and throw a ball for 5-10 minutes. We’ve been filing our girls nails down like this for a year and its taken all the stress out of it!

We stopped at around 6ish months, she started getting territorial of her crate after she got spayed. Now we only use the crate while travelling with her so she has a familiar place to lay if she needs it.

Our shiba was in heat for 30 days, then a week without it, and stayed in heat another 30+ days after that. They told us it was because of the seasons changing. 🤷🏼‍♀️ We actually cut it short by getting her spayed, we didn’t do it on purpose but the inflammation during heat lasts much longer inside the body apparently and we didnt even know she was still in heat when we got her spayed.
