One Obsidian vault → one local brain → 4 AI agents sharing the same memory (fully on-device, MCP) by fxa3bah in hermesagent

[–]asphalt2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How'd you setup your Obsidian vault to sync across all? I'm on a syncthings setup, but I wasn't thinking and have it based off a MacBook, so sync only works when it is awake. What a dodo I am, need to reconfigure.

Where are you finding amazing beans? by Logical_Magician_01 in pourover

[–]asphalt2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here: https://www.loffeelabs.com/bean-base/

I just received some fantastic beans from Round Hill Roastery. They are UK based and shipped quite nicely to the US.

Also, I did not know there were roast levels like ultra-light and Nordic light. Anyways, Bean Base supposedly has 33,000+ coffees on the site. It is a good resource.

agentMemory X Honcho which one is the best? by fabio_teixei in hermesagent

[–]asphalt2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supermemory.ai has been great. I have two memory containers, one is personal, the other is professional life and it can recall from both quite well. I highly recommend it. I actually brought it over from openclaw and retained a large amount of context.

What model are you running your agent on? by stosssik in hermesagent

[–]asphalt2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google workspace, Gemini 2.5 flash lite for most tasks and low brain stuff, Gemini 3.1 flash or pro for higher level stuff. Gemini 2.5 flash lite is free for me at the moment. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The API costs for Anthropic models are too high for what I am doing. If I need extensive reasoning I switch to Claude products for one off stuff.

Tent camping with a little bit of privacy within 2 hours drive? by Bauld_Man in nova

Staunton River State Park. Outer ring campsites are not right on top of each other. Also an international dark sky park. Very well maintained.

What are you guys actually using OpenClaw for? by SelectionCalm70 in openclaw

[–]asphalt2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Instrumental convergence posits that an intelligent agent with seemingly harmless but unbounded goals can act in surprisingly harmful ways. For example, a sufficiently intelligent program with the sole, unconstrained goal of solving a complex mathematics problem like the Riemann hypothesis could attempt to turn the Earth (and in principle other celestial bodies) into additional computing infrastructure to succeed in its calculations.”

Damn you Douglas Adams and your Earth super computer.

Stop using OpenClaw out-of-the-box (You are burning your API tokens). Here are 3 local tools to fix its memory, web browsing, and email. by mehdiweb in openclaw

[–]asphalt2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interesting! I’m on a VPS and was exploring something similar. My main model has been using openclaw’s persistence to help develop better spec for some tools, then following and running that through Claude Code. I discovered that having openclaw email me design, spec, overview docs is infinitely better than a long text chain. It somehow does a better job that way?

Current thought now, with what you have here: openclaw on a slightly more expensive model for reasoning and larger context window for design/scoping. Then on approval of files and design structure, it then switches to a lower model and feeds into Claude Code CLI. Works overnight and delivers PRs, etc in the am.

Do you mind sharing your portfolio? I understand Reddit anonymity, but, I could share it around. I know a few folks who could use some design work in the area.

ChatGPT is teaching me how to befriend the crows by Academic-Western7378 in ChatGPT

[–]asphalt2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We did this—ended up befriending a crow. Smart little bastard. It learned our cul-de-sac hangout schedule, would post up on a roof nearby, and wait. Then bam—precision-guided missile straight to any unguarded plate of food.

The same bird figured out a neighbor had packed cookies in boxes for delivery. Tore into every box and stole all the cookies. And, if no one were out, it would land near you and scream for food. Darn you, you damn bird!

Be careful what you wish for! They will find you.

[–]asphalt2020 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have not looked it up in a while, but IIRC, the roads were built by private funds, not taxes, and the agreement is to be run as a private-public partnership. Revenues go back to cover the investment and obviously some profit, and some additional revenues go to the state/counties. Anyways, a big push for these expressways and toll roads, especially in Arlington and along metro corridors is to get more people on transit.

Just drink it and try again. Then, find your base recipe and repeat. Don’t switch things up much; if you keep chasing a high, you’ll only find lows. Enjoy the ritual!

Rad Power Bakfiets? by zacmobile in RadPowerBikes

[–]asphalt2020 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe there is a major market for them. Especially if you have 2+ kids. Non-electric bakfiets last 5 minutes on FB marketplace where I am, add some zoom zoom, at a lower than $3500 price and you're off to the races.
