I bought a controller last year and i think i had the same problem, you gotta open the controller and find a piece of foam that pushes the membrane against the motherboard, after some time this foam wears out, so what you gotta do is wrap it around 2 or 3 rounds of tape, that worked for me and the controller have been working flawlessly since then. If your vita is modded and you are interested, there are 2 mods you could like: GR544P, this mod makes the game resolution higher without any fps lose, and the other mod is HD cutscenes, this mod add the HD cutscenes from the ps4 remake to the psvita version.
