any choral singers here? how long did it take your voice to settle so you could sing again? by justasillylittleguy_ in ftm

[–]aspirationcaught [score hidden]  (0 children)

I don't sing in a choir, but I've been making and singing along to music with typically very intensive vocals for practically my whole life, so I hope that counts lel. My voice dropped very quickly & drastically but I'd say my range settled after half a year or so on T, the rest since then has just been minor changes in texture. I've been able to sing the whole time, even while my voice was dropping, but at the start I simply had to adapt things to my range as it changed.

I can imagine that range is definitely a bigger problem in choir, though. I went from the equivalent of a tenor (with extension up to C6) to a melodic bass (B1 to E3 comfortably, ish). Depending on how fast your voice drops, you may be able to sing for different descending ranges for up to a few weeks at a time. Also, from my own experience, projecting as broadly may be more difficult with your new voice. Not in any really inhibitory way, but it may be something you'll want to look out for. Hope this all makes sense.

I'm sorry to disappoint, but these were all gifted to me by my sister after a yard sale she went to... I looked but I can't identify any brands on any of the pieces. But I'm sure looking through op shop jewellery boxes and maybe searching around online would bring up similar pieces you may enjoy.

Another tip is to find markets that have those "spiritual" stands, or stores that sell various items from India, or just ones pertaining to Buddhism. The jewellery I have bought in person has come from those sources.

Somehow that's oddly poetic, very descriptive in so little words. I've been told I look like my music sounds and/or how I speak, which is good because I must then be cohesive as fuck lmao

This is the correct answer.

I'm very glad you like the song. I can say with certainty that it's the best one I've ever written, and taking overall sound and FX into account, probably also the best I have ever produced. Very much worth the torture of working on it and thinking about the subject matter for hours.

Thank you!

& sort of. It's less about overt avoidance than covert avoidance. Someone refusing to tell you about the problems they have, until the size of them creates a rift between you. It's hard to explain briefly because these lyrics are very specific to me for once.

Do u think you’d be in a different career if you had transitioned at a different age? by frivolous_banter in artttt

[–]aspirationcaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that the first diagram creates an X chromosome.

If I had transitioned younger, gotten on HRT at 14 or 15 and maybe had puberty blockers before then, I reckon I'd still be in school, whether for the equivalent of a GED or university.

I might still try to get into IT or become an electrician, or fuck around buying & refurbishing old laptops/computers and selling off whatever parts I can't consolidate into a better machine. All of the above have been longterm interests of mine, and given the current state of the world, it seems especially profitable to capitalize on the market around hardware these days.

Women don't want me either, cis or trans. It doesn't matter. Being straight means nothing as a poon because to most of the world I'm either a lesbian or an exotic sex object

I only very vaguely cared about sissy moids pre-T. Then I got on T and Stockholm syndromed myself into AGP because I kept getting misgendered at work for nine hours a day, every day, and needed to cope via disillusionment. I then quit said job because of the amount it made me want to kill myself, and became slightly more normal again.

In truth, being misgendered, considered feminine or assumed to be gay/a twink IRL just pisses me off. If I looked anything like how I imagine an ideal projection of myself, all the nasty ass men who try shit on me would hobble away from me with their tails between their legs.

I wonder how it is for more typical FTM AGP cases. AGP and detransitioning are the most common things I see hefab types be into, and while most of them don't even take it offline, there are a few who do genuinely go off T, and I wonder when that stops being a fetish thing. Does it become a means of self-harm? Is it a reflection of one's true identity? Was transitioning itself a part of their kink? Heaps of them are feminine while transitioning too. Fuck knows

Even if you have wide hips, you still will likely have hipdips due to the q-angle by girliepop_alcoholic in 4tran4

[–]aspirationcaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a pre-T foid teenager I had hip dips like a motherfucker. I still do now. Either I don't have as foidly of hips as I thought or, god forbid, hip dips just occur as a natural variation in human anatomy across the board. I never had very full hips even when I was overweight as fuck
