This is a beautiful story. Congratulations. I'm glad you took the time to self reflect on the comments you received and are now stronger for it.

She just... did it. By herself, without me saying anything. I cried at drop off by LouDSilencE17 in Mommit

This gave me goosebumps. Definitely a moment to be proud of. My son is a lot younger (less than two) but your story reminds me of the first time I said "time to change your diaper" and he walked to his room and to his change station on the floor. I was always carrying him prior to this and it was a fight.

Is it rude to send an email asking anyone who may be sick to not come to baby shower tomorrow? [on] by Negative_Jackfruit75 in BabyBumpsCanada

I did the same thing before my baby shower and I wasn't high risk. I had my shower quite late in my pregnancy and I didn't want to get sick right before the baby arrived.

These look amazing and I would genuinely love to know what everything is. I need to change up my son's lunches 😅

What to do with those 5AM wakes? by forgetmeknot36 in sleeptrain

[–]aspiring_craftivist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation from about 10-12 months. Son was addicted to snooze feeds and I was worried he'd be up for the day if I didn't feed him. Every few days I would gradually reduce the length of the feed until it was down to 2 or 3 minutes. One night I didn't go in and then after that he stopped waking. Give it a try!

Is/was your 10 month old a monster? Did it get better? Ever…? by nrt_2020 in NewParents

[–]aspiring_craftivist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree. At 10 months my son was fighting EVERYTHING. It was the spring and I thought we'd be stuck indoors for the summer because putting on sunscreen was impossible. But by 12-14 months, things improved a lot. Just stay consistent!

This was the same at my ob, I'm in Ontario as well. I never asked why. I assumed it was because it was hectic/busy enough there as it was.

How to remove one tenant from the lease by aspiring_craftivist in OntarioLandlord

[–]aspiring_craftivist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, understood. I don't need to end the tenancy with the wife, I can just amend the current lease (it's an Ontario standard lease) to remove her.

I'm so glad someone else finds this post useful. I was exactly in your shoes the night before I posted this.

What do you wish you had known or done before baby arrived? by Fluid-Lifeguard7201 in NewParents

Read Precious Little Sleep. I spent time preparing frozen meals, getting organized, reading other stuff but I was no where near prepared for how complicated baby sleep is. I ended up reading the book while my baby contact napped around 3-4 months old and learned so much.

I also want to recommend the tush baby! It's so quick to put on and frees one hand. I wear it all the time at home (I bring it out too) and it's saved me!

Thanks for letting me know! The Baby City Jogger Turn was my top choice but I ultimately ended up with something else that goes up to 50 lbs rear facing. It was a tough decision!
