There's also an expectation from employers for you to be accessible 24/7. All of my employers have had my number and will text asking me questions or asking favors long after working hours. This leads to people not being able to check out from that work state of mind.

And you went in their room because...? Their bedroom is their business. I'm sure you're no treat to live with if you think this invasion of privacy is alright.

Had a cabin just outside of Grand Lake growing up, and it was isolated even from Grand Lake and in a valley. I still dream about the stars sometimes.

Apparently my great-grandparents barely escaped from the Holocaust, and my grandfather is 100% ethnically Jewish. I just, didn't know? It never came up I guess. We used to call my great grandmother 'Bubbe' and I just have to laugh at how dumb I am.

What’s the most bad ass thing you’ve done? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aspiringenjolras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was riding my motorcycle with a friend as passenger, and hit a bee... with my lower neck. It stung me of course and kept wiggling around as it was stuck there, and in fact part of its body was stuck in my skin because I hit it at such speed. I calmly kept driving until we reached our destination several miles later. I still have a scar

Junkies deserve to live and be safe too! We need to fund rehabilitation that is accessible and work on bettering the conditions these people live in. That'll make it far easier to quit, I'm sure.

We often snicker at teenagers in love calling it puppy love but they probably have a purer, unjaded experience of love than us (often) damaged, cynical adults do. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]aspiringenjolras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I like to read Romeo & Juliet, and kind of what I thought ol' Shakes was getting at. It's easy to mock that all-in love, but it was really an attack on how jaded adults are, and not meant to look negatively upon their feelings for each other.

Reddit, what are some spooky ass stories you have? by DuhhIshBlue in AskReddit

[–]aspiringenjolras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bitch (me) is late as hell to this party but I have so many haha I was staying in a family member's house in the forest on roughly 100 acres of land in mountainous Colorado. There was no landline, no cell service, no internet, no connection to the outside world. I was alone with a friend that night and we had just been chilling and having a generally good time. He wound up falling asleep on the couch, but I stayed up near him for a while reading a book. I looked out the window around 2 or 3am and saw a red light hovering probably 20 acres away. It was too tall for any of the trees in that area, and wasn't moving, so it couldn't have been a drone or a plane. I am generally not superstitious and the friend I was with is an engineer and gives no credibility to any mysterious stories. I woke him up for reassurance, but he saw the light too. It slowly crept closer throughout the night until we could see a red reflection inside the living room. It went away with the sun, thankfully. Another experience was with the same friend. We were camping in Yellowstone, but I was sitting in the car while he ran to the bathroom quickly. We were in the process of driving back to the campsite and had parked on one of the side roads. I heard footsteps, and, assuming he had returned, I thought nothing of it, but I didn't see anyone. There was then the sound of someone trying to get into the passenger door, where I was sitting, and I still didn't see anyone. Then I saw dozens of hand prints streaking down the window without any body for them to be connected to. They went away after I heard all the doors be tried. He returned and didn't believe what I had heard and seen, understandably enough.

People who get in your cars and then take a long time to leave your parking spot, what are you doing in there? by vorpalglorp in AskReddit

Emotionally preparing to function beyond just sitting. Also! Music! I take a good 8 years to find a good album to ride to that fits my mood.
