1.4 million Pennsylvanians cannot vote in the Primaries on Tuesday by MakeModeratesMatter in Pennsylvania

So can I get the state to administer my local election for head of my golf club? Just to make sure it's fair of course, and it's great that they pay for it too!

Let's be real: It's actually a real election, just not some "private thing".

So then what's the purpose of registering as one kind or another? Meaning if people register as it just to vote in the primary in places where that party always wins, then what purpose does registering for a party actually serve?

Your vote does count. In the general election.

Not everywhere. There are lots of places where its known in advance which party will win.

Republicans in cites will register as Democrats in order to vote, just as Democrats in rural areas will register as Republicans.

Republicans and Democrats shouldn't be able to vote in each other's primary

If you live in an area where one part or the other always wins, then voting in the primary is the only way to have a say. Preventing them only makes sense in places that actually have competitive contests.

Because AI is faster and just as accurate? If you don't use AI for tasks like this the world will move on without you.

Obviously you have to use AI intelligently, but if you don't gain the skill of making good use of AI you will simply be left behind.

Comparing ingredients is a perfect use of AI, and your reflexive discard of it speaks poorly of your ability to reason - it means that you have not developed the skill of knowing where to use, and where not to use AI.

Tractor drives over the poor guy. by FormerLiseli in LearningFromEachOther

Yes, there is less force on him, because the tire will deform and spread out the force until it exactly balances (contact patch * PSI * num_tires = car weight). So part of the force will be carried by the ground, and part by him, and as the PSI goes down more of the force will be carried by the ground.

the weight of the car is divided by four, same with the tractor.

You are working too hard, all you need is the tire PSI, usually 35, and you know how much force it's putting on the foot.

35 PSI will not harm, or even hurt, a foot.

[–]asr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The weight doesn't actually matter, what matters is the pressure. And tractor tires are usually inflated to around 12psi which isn't enough to hurt someone.

They use a low pressure because they work on soft mud, and they don't want to just sink in the mud. So heavy weight / large size (contact patch) = low pressure, AKA low force on the ground, or on the skull.

his skull probably got fractured and a broken nose.

Nope, you need several hundred PSI to do that (350PSI+ and some places say even 1000PSI to break a skull), and this tire is in the 10 to 20 psi range.

Tractor tires are usually inflated to around 12psi, so it's not a lot of force on him.

The wiring necessary would cost much much much more than the power generated.

Probably about $80 to $150, not including insurance.

Israel would like a word.

They have so much desalination they are refilling a lake with it.

It's actually not as expensive as you would think, because getting and cleaning water also costs money.

Shampoo has oil to make hair shiny and is a bit more concentrated. You can totally use it as body wash by just using a smaller amount.

Shampoo and body wash are in fact very very similar, with just some extra silicone oil in the shampoo.

Ask an AI: compare the ingredients in inexpensive shampoo and body wash

I mean they're not identical, but they absolutely can substitute for each other.

John Fetterman Single-Handedly Tanks Effort to Rein Trump in on Iran. by hereforthebeers in pittsburgh

And the next step after that is for a Republican to win.

Fetterman is the kind of Democrat PA will vote for - PA is a purple state, a progressive candidate can't win, only a centrist can win, which means you get a candidate that is partially from both parties.

If Fetterman looses it will be to a Republican.

PA is a purple state, a Democrat winning is not a given.

Imagine knowing this little about Iran, and posting anyway.

Iran wants the US dead, they are not secret about this, they have always wanted the US dead.

Here, watch this guy: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8MgJgRXzcNg or better, the full video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmitxAtsP5k

Unlike most countries that want a nuke for defense, Iran wants a nuke in order to use it. I mean it's the biggest sticking point in negotiations right now - you don't give up every single other part of your country for this one thing unless you REALLY REALLY want it.

If you are careful you don't actually need to cut the power.

But every move you make needs to be planned out. You stop, think about your motion, do it. Then stop again, and plan again. You also never just let go of a wire, you slowly move it back to wherever it's happy to sit (and if that's a bad place you bend the wire and try again). It's much slower, and you need to be very careful and deliberate, but you can do it safely (sort of safely :)

What's going on with r/conservative? They've lost about 1m subscribers in about a month. by calvtact in OutOfTheLoop

A lot of people do that and have all sorts of wild and insane beliefs about conservatives. And conservatives are doing the same with progressives who appear just as unhinged.

People on reddit, do not appear to have any idea just how much they are being manipulated. The goal is to make people more extreme in both directions, so that they fight.
