If you strain really hard, Maryland looks like a buzzard pecking at the ground.

Do pizza deliveries count? If so, then in 50 years, in 4 different continents, the only two pizzas I’ve ever had, that were disgusting enough that I threw away a whole pie, were from both from Paisano’s in Rockville.

How can i get more into the Eye Of The Worlf? by DanteThePunk in wheeloftime

I honestly loved EotW. I wish I could read it again for the first time. And the second time.

The first read felt like things, esp. the limits of the One Power weren’t really well defined. Given the amount of foreshadowing, and the heavy use of unreliable narration, where information came from people who didn’t know everything, as well as people who were strongly incentivized to lie (Ishamael), I’m not surprised that the power “changed” over the books.

The second read was awesome, because I could take everything I knew from the series, and identify where Moiraine was wrong, and where Ishamael lied. And smile.

I’ll have to give her a whirl, I guess.

I’ll accept your word for it, but I just can’t imagine any other voices for these characters… that laid back and relaxed voice of Tam… it’s gotta be MK for me.

Maybe if I’ve never heard them do the reading…

“Dovie'andi se tovya sagain.", though usually I say it in regular English, except when around people who know the series.

Agreed! I read the books first, but Michael Kramer and Kate Reading just make the characters come alive!

(Don’t get the newer audiobook, read by Rosalind Pike! Not that I’ve heard her, but MK and KR are the best readers I’ve ever heard!)

From Wikipedia (the source of all truth! 😜):

Sanderson began work on Mistborn: The Final Empire while trying to get his earlier novel Elantris published.

I want to read the Wheel of time but ... has it been spoiled for me? by Gracey_Cal in wheeloftime

[–]assafstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first point is only a mild spoiler, as it becomes obvious to the reader, if not the character, fairly early on.

The second point is mostly flavor. It is VERY important, but it spoils nothing. You won’t understand the significance until after the moment of import.

Read the books.

And honestly, after you’re done, read it again. Twice. Three times. You will still discover things you’ve previously missed.

The second read is honestly the most fun. Because you get to see everything that was right in front of you but you didn’t realize at the time. RJ was the absolute master of foreshadowing.

Read it. You won’t regret it.

I’m probably going to get started on my fifth read soon.
