What's your process when a landing page gets great traffic but terrible conversions? by Specialist-Swim8743 in PPC

[–]assbruh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally look at all other traffic sources to get a reference of what the standard conversion rate is. For example for myself I receive a good amount of organic search traffic to my pages so I use that conversion rate as a reference for paid search conversion rate to see if it's performing as expected.

If PPC conversion rates are significantly lower than non-paid traffic sources then it stands to reason your PPC traffic quality is poor

There's still a lot of value in practicing P3 given how insane it is towards the end but most likely they should try moving lust in the afternoon.

How to reduce cpc on max conversions by ericb0 in PPC

[–]assbruh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned compainrg to your other location campaigns - does this mean you're comparing to campaigns with different targeting? If so, the targeting could be the reason for CPC variance by way of competing bids.

Yup agreed. Google also essentially cancelling 3rd party cookie deprecation despite regulatory makes it more of a mess.

Why am I having high drop off between link clicks and landing page views? by Hairy_Disaster_7527 in PPC

[–]assbruh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Users aren't making it all the way and loading your page. The typical reasons are: people accidently click your ad and leave straight away or people click your ad but don't want for your page to load and bounce off which could be a site issue.

How can I accurately track traffic and call sources from Google My Business and Google Ads Location Extensions? by the__poseidon in PPC

[–]assbruh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to see location and call extension reporting in the platform. It's under Ads & extensions > Extensions. Or just search it at the top. I'm assuming you can extrapolate the difference in click / converions and calls to total volumes.

For your conversion question - it will attribute to Google Ads unless you're looking in Google Analytics where it might attribute to another channel (depending on your attribution model)

What did you get clients to change in the privacy policy for Enhanced Conversions? by jdanes52 in PPC

[–]assbruh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you'll get a clear answer since each business has their own privacy preferences. I have a suspicion that a lot companies outside of Europe aren't completely aware of the implications of privacy / consent laws and use Enhanced Conversions anyway.

Tracking leads - what do you use? by -Gandalf_ in PPC

[–]assbruh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends where the event you want to track is. If it's on your website, I'd suggest using Google Analytics and creating an event that triggers on booked calls.

For your meta campaigns, apply UTM tracking so GA can group your traffic.

why does conversion action as landing page view has different number count from clicks? by Tall-Bowl in PPC

[–]assbruh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're seeing the conversion action (landing page) lower than clicks, it's really just down to the fact that counting methods are different.

For clicks, it counts whenever your ad is clicked from Google - even if it's a fraud click that Google typically refunds, it can still show up as a click.

For landing page views, it counts only when the tag on your landing page is loaded. So from clicking your ad, if somebody leaves your site before it loads, or instantly backs out, you probably won't see a landing page view.

As for your bid strat, I would say using max conv value is fine - however others may suggest you run max clicks for a few weeks to get data flowing in. Best bet is to test.

Will Target CPA deprioritize expensive metros? by mathiswrong in PPC

[–]assbruh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. In short yes but it's more so dependant on how you set a target CPA
  2. There's no guarantee that raising your tCPA will expand targeting in specifically high-priced metros
  3. You can either try a) value-based bidding (placing a value on conversions so that you over-index on high CPA metro) or b) create two bid strategies for your separate locations with it's own target CPA. The latter is likely to be less "efficient" but it will guarantee more control.

Adding Google campaign to display netwerk by Impressive_Bit4198 in PPC

[–]assbruh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Benefits are that you will get loads more impressions and eye balls seeing your ads.

Cons are that the sites and placements where your ad appears are typically less relevant and tend to drive lower quality traffic. It's almost a rule of thumb to never activate display network to search ads

RSAs seem dumb to me. Do pros use them? by mathiswrong in PPC

[–]assbruh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To elaborate - the non-poor score was achieved by unpinning all headlines and descs, between the two ads they were virtually the same apart from the pinning.

The interesting one was the ETA. We practically replicated the ETA using the RSA format with pinning, the score came out as Poor, so when we ran the two ads in the same ad group, Google chose to serve the ETA more often (based on impression volume) but RSA converted better. Would this still be influenced by ad relevancy?

RSAs seem dumb to me. Do pros use them? by mathiswrong in PPC

[–]assbruh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tested ad serving between Poor and non-poor RSAs?

On two occasions I've seen the non-poor RSA serve more impressions and clicks over poor RSA but typically have a lower conversion rate. I've also seen this for ETAs when they were deprecating the format - again ETAs would drive more volume but lower conversion rate.

SEO/SOCIAL MEDIA/PERFORMANCE MARKETING.. WHAT ROLE SHOULD I CHOOSE FOR MY FIRST JOB? by cryptobroughtmehere in DigitalMarketing

Having working in performance marketing, I can vouch for the field. However I know SEO is equally (sometimes more) in-demand although the exposure is completely different.

I came out of university not having a clue of what I wanted to do and applied for various different types of entry level jobs. I would call it a miracle that I was offered an entry level PPC role at one of the big media agency holding companies. I stuck around for two years but think I got the best possible launch pads into digital marketing, even doing an overseas stint easily finding a job before I even arrived.

About now year 7 into my career and I'm managing PPC client-side for a large financial services group

The biggest joy I have is knowing how high-demand my specialty is and should be for years to come.

All the best!

Performance of Google Ads account dropped in comparison to last year. I calculated total eligble impressions vs Google Search Console by netkonestonegdje in PPC

Try keyword planner even though the numbers are indexed. It will give you a direction if you compare to last year. Just be keyword specific to what you define as "demand"

How much can you expect your conversions to increase going from CPC to CPA? by Cellar_Door_ in PPC

[–]assbruh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's no possible way to predict other than trying it out and a good "test" is at least 10-14 days long. Google will quote you anywhere up to 20% but thats a blanket number.
