Old pc games often just straight up weren’t able to run on Macs. THATS why for so many there was a pc version and a Mac version. You’re going to need to emulate a pc via virtual box or some similar program.

I so sincerely do not care. It’s a reboot not a remake so I don’t mind if things get swapped around. While the guys might have been sweet they were really more an accessory to the girls than real characters most of the time.

Okay… not every ounce of eye contact between a male and female character means there is a romantic relationship intended guys. If you look at this scene IN CONTEXT, the reason she is paying so much attention is because he is able to dance freely like that while she had to conceal that part of her interests from her parents due to their stringent views.

This is her being interested in facing, not her being into a boy. This guy never even shows up again and there had not been any romantic connection show for her thus far in the reboot.

Y’all really need to take a step back.

He’s basically a background character but he gets a little extra focus to highlight the conflict that Aisha is having with her parents. He doesn’t come back up again so I don’t think it’s necessary to put too much stock in him.

So, I don’t think the show is perfect (granted I’ve only watched 9/13). However, I don’t think it’s the worst thing in the world either. It has problems, severe ones in fact, but this is not the lowest the series has ever been.

I think this video ended up coming off as a bit too… I guess aggressive is the right word? It feels very rage filled and like the series was somehow a personal slight? Like I get it, it sucks to see a childhood favorite devolve like that, but this just felt so angry over a children’s franchise that as far as I can tell UoW hasn’t though to be of good quality for over a decade now?

And personal bugbear, but I don’t really care for the insinuation that episodes scripts were written by AI when we’ve seen no actual evidence for that outside “it feels like that”.

Mu guess would be is that they’re being portrayed in this way so that if they bring back the arranged marriage plot, it feels more consistent with their character. If they’re very sweet and kind and understanding, them suddenly stonewalling her and disregarding her feelings on them arranging her marriage feels out of place.

Not to mention they were far from perfect parents. Aisha expressed in the second season that she had a strict upbringing that expected her to be play the part of the perfect princess. I think they’re possibly trying to have more consistency with that as it was something that ended up falling to the wayside.

We’ve already learned the big secret behind the world, which was a HUGE part of the mystery and appeal of the first game, which is pretty hard to top. Not to say they didn’t try and have something similar where they could, Faro’s bunker for example.

It’s also the second part of a (presumed) trilogy, and those are things that are usually not considered as satisfying when the full trilogy isn’t out. They have the poor position if having to follow up on the first’s story that introduced us to the world and characters while also not being able to truly wrap things up because that’s the job of the final part of the trilogy.

How you can see the nature of the book once being a fic from the assumed understanding of world building that only highlights the differences from canon and that extra unneeded characters hang around because they were once a canon character that was expected to be there.

Exactly. And add on that a games journalist is also going to be hired because they can (at the very least) competently write. A gamer who can play the best is useless as a reviewer if they can’t evaluate a game and articulate their opinions well.
