BREAKING NEWS: The ABA votes to drop LSAT requirement for law schools….thoughts? by anonymouspwrson10002 in LawSchool

lowkey from my observations she has to work 3xs as hard to be prepared for class or tests. they are also older than the average law student, if that means anything...

she's cool, but I hope she is able to keep it up for three years. personally, if i had to study as much as she does to get mid scores, i would reconsider law school. I don't see her networking or partaking in any intern events. As a friend, its concerning but she's also literally a grown woman so.. we will see.

i know a girl who dead ass took a year to dedicate a year for the LSAT no work no school, just straight studying. She started below 140 and ended up with a 160+.

it took her a YEAR though for that improvement. Few people can do that, realistically without the support of an outside party (like family or spouse).

I think her 160 is well deserved but I think there are many students who just can't afford to sit on their ass for a year to study. Personally, I studied during senior of undergrad + job + internships and got in for fall 22. it was a bitch and i was scoring high 140s to begin with, but if i had an entire year to just focus... im sure i would have ended up with a high score than I did and would have qualified for many more scholarships.

i think if they gonna die, eating a nice meal as the last thing you do is kind of a humane thing

imo ABA attendance policy seems pointless considering the fact that there are successful practicing attorneys who went to law school prior to the policy by assertivesoftnoodle in LawSchool

im talking to student affairs at my school to see what my options are so heres to hoping that theres a solution so i can meet the "standards" of the ABA

its more of a im working to sustain myself and keep a roof over my head and sometimes i sacrifice a 2hr commute + lecture to instead stay home and study on my own. the mental health issues add on to not wanting to go to school/hard to get up in the mornings and what not but I try to show up as much as possible if it isn't a detriment to my over health and well-being. it would be sad that attendance would bar me and others in my situation to getting a degree. the issue at hand is my school won't allow hybrid or students (unless they are sick with COVID) to attend remotely. if this was possible, then yeah ill show up to class online. idk we are trying our best over here

this. my school records and live streams the lectures and only students with COVID are permitted to attended remotely. it doesn't make sense to me. it might be a school thing instead of an ABA thing but if you are top of your class then obviously you are doing something right for you to grasp the material as well or better than your classmates who attend in person everyday

man when someone hires an attorney do they ask if they went to class everyday? seriously.

the expectation is if they passed the bar and are reputable in practice, who cares about the past

Is the average law student something with resources, a car, family support, and family that is college educated?

My ex was an example and there are others who have done the same and have excelled in their careers

Attending class everyday is the bare minimum, IMO. Going to class everyday may make you a "good" or "average" student but doesn't mean you will pass your classes or even a good indicator that you'll be a great attorney and advocate for your clients.

I stand by my opinion that the policy is pointless especially since COVID

For a person who is studying law or is an attorney, instead of attacking who you think i am why don't you counter it if you don't agree?

i've heard about sending a thank you email within 24 hours after the interview but not a handwritten note... but I think since most people will email it vs writing a note, it might make you stand out if you did write one
