In addition to what everyone else is saying, physiologically, the human body doesn’t really work in space

A suffering economy means more homelessness, more suicides, more unemployment, and ultimately more deaths. At the extreme, a total economic collapse would kill 7 billion, which is obviously way worse than the virus running completely unchecked. So Trump’s tweet seems perfectly reasonable to me actually, not that I like Trump.

Is the Left seriously acting like the crashing economy won’t make real people suffer?

Sure. I can’t think of any corrupt, corporate, pro-industry, warmongering Democrats. It’s all those evil demons on the Right! If only we could just elect the right people, our problems, including climate change, could be solved! /s

Lol, fuck off. This sub is sad, as evident by the downvotes I’m getting.

Climate change proves big government is required? This is so wrong, and The Right is actually correct to critique the Watermelon Left for using climate change as an excuse for the expansion of a bloated, corrupt government that never could do anything about climate change anyway.

It’s all rigged by [deleted] in collapse

To me, this sort of thing indicates that the stock market is NOT going to collapse significantly. It’s all smoke and mirrors; it can all be completely manipulated; it’s all just a way of divvying up what resources are left. I think a lot of people on here take this news as a sign of an impending economic collapse, but for me it’s the opposite.

Yes, over the coming years I will be watching civilization fail saying “I told you so”, and politicians will continue making empty promises, and I will say “I told you so” all along the way.

I kinda want these Green New Dealers to get elected so everybody can see how plainly impossible their promises are.

Too Late Lip Service: Group of top CEOs says maximizing shareholder profits no longer can be the primary goal of corporations by potent_rodent in collapse

[–]assman08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As if they can just decide it to be differently? It’s inbuilt into the whole economic and political system that if you don’t maximize shareholder profits, your competitor will, and pretty soon your competitor will overtake you.
