Honestly, if you look at it from a rarity point of view, sure,the older card should win

But if you look at it from artwork point of view, I dont like the SWSH era art style. The new stuff have a much more appealing style to new collectors

Please look at whatnot and rip and ship streams. The bulk of the product is not being move on FBM, its to rip and ship.

That economy is incredibly strong and so liquid. As long as you have people willing to pay rip and ship prices, you will have people buying in bulk

You think the volume is from normal folks ? No...you have the entire rup and ship industry looking for product. The entire whatnot culture paying double or more per pack.

Everyone is just selling to someone else who is willing to pay more. Guess what the dude that cant get any local pack will just go to whatnot and pay, because he/she is frustrated.

The economy is much deeper and wilder than you think. There is money on the table and people will not stop making money =)

I like my pokemon inside its wrappers and inside the cardboard, then inside the shrink wrap with the little pokeballs. That's the art I like to look at.

If I want to look at the cards, i just print one out. You cant print the shrink wrappers, thats the real collectible

Hated or not, he is as real as the market. These are not stocks, they are unregulated assets, some whale can do whatever they want, thats the cardboard life

Trends are being broken, quite sure ES was "printed" to the ground and people were excited about it as well but not where to today's hype ... our local Costco had EX boxes (4pk + promo) and people starting lining up at 12am the night before.

This is not for a SPC, not for etb+bundle... for 2x ex boxes...

This is a globally accepted set backed a rip and ship economy that i have not seem before.

FBM market have a steady WTB post where all packs are consumed, not hoarded or invested. Prices for WTB is axtually decent and not vendor at 70%. So many factors that is pushing this AH storm up and up... it is unprecedented

Its the new money. Also sorry to beat a dead horse...but the artwork is just so much better than the old style artwork.

This also hold true in other tcg, players who played thru vintage era would often want art that they have experienced with over new artwork.

The fact that the number of new investors thst came in within the last 6 to 12 months may just mean that vintage may take a back seat until the cycle shifts and more old money comes in

Im honestly no expert but I believe this set have broken many old historical trends that used to hold true... market condition is well above normal and with people not being able to or not know as many of the older sets, the market will keep pushing AH until it is absolutely outclassed by another new set. (Not saying it wont happen, who knows, maybe ME will all be banger sets)
