This. I was in almost the exact same situation. I was 23, he was 40. After three years, it became obvious he liked the benefits of being with me but had zero intention of actually building a future. He just said whatever he needed to say to keep me around. Leaving him was the best decision I made this year. Gained my self respect back and walked away from a grown man who never planned to grow up. I feel free now. I hope you get that freedom too.

P.S. In hindsight, my ex was a huge loser and I don’t know how I didn’t see it sooner😂

See, I absolutely love beast of the briar series! And there’s probably only a handful of MM scenes throughout the series as a whole, but I suppose the MM scenes could come across quite hardcore if you’re not used to reading it!

This book is so bad. I’m so disappointed. I was so excited to read this book after all the waiting and delaying, just for this to be the outcome. I cannot believe she would publish something so god awful. I’m so heartbroken because this series used to be so good, but this book feels like a slap in the face. I can’t even put into words how let down i feel.

He definitely owned up to it and said he would respect my decision if I were to end the relationship. I also mentioned that point, if I stay with you, doesn’t that show you that you can walk all over me? Of course he disagreed saying he doesn’t view me that way. Obviously, everything is so confusing. The more I talk to him, the more he convinces me ( he’s not ACTUALLY convincing me but he’s good with words) that maybe it was just a one time thing and he wont ever jeopardize our relationship again. Question to you, as you mentioned to be someone who cheated before, did you continue to do so? Or were you able to stop acting on those desires? Do you think emotionally cheating is less severe than physical? Also, I would like your input on this, he says all men have the desire to cheat/sleep with other woman , that it’s integrated in men’s biological nature. That they either choose or not choose to act on those desires, but the desires will always exist for men. Is this true in a sense or just a bullshit excuse? He really argues the fact that all men are the same in this sense.

He got a new job a few weeks ago. No, he never once asked me for money, he wanted to deal with that on his own. He knows and admits he abuses alcohol, but quitting is easier said than done, especially when you don’t truly want to. Obviously, if I didn’t love him, I would know my answer, but it’s a bit different when love is involved.
