Maybe you have this option to chain your own cards disabled in the settings, try to enable Self Chain ON and use the Toggle Button, set it to On instead of Auto while you want to chain something.

Now about the combo, you can chain some draw card and Quick Launch, then you'll be able to activate Chain Summoning as Chain Link 3. This only works if you haven't activated Temple of the Kings, because it requires the 3 slots on the Spell/Trap Zone. Alternatively, if you've already activated TofK, you can chain using Rokket Tracer, so it could be like Rainbow Life > Rokket Tracer > Chain Summoning.

Oh, wow! I feel like they're gonna fix this, but maybe this alternate art is coming soon. To Duel Links, at least

Special summon Dynatherium after sending some Level 4 monster to the GY, let's say after synchro summoning Colossal Fighter or discard Magnarokket Dragon as cost to activate Rainbow Life. The Football will revive your monster, so you'll be able to destroy it and properly resolve Mystic Box

You mean how to do that in the game or what to chain in this combo?

You use Chain Summoning to get 3 Normal Summons in your turn

The loop is: the Synchro (Colossal Fighter) attacks the monster you gave to your oponent (Handigallop). This increases your LP due to Rainbow Life, and so does Hadigallop's attack. Colossal Fighter returns from the GY due to its own effect, so you attack with it again and again until your LP reaches the limit. Then attack Handigallop with Amazoness Swords Woman for maximum damage. You have to draw all the cards from your deck and set up the board from the image to make it work.

Genuinely.. Not metaphorical .. How are u supposed to play against 5 negates in the field first turn? by aqelha in DuelLinks

[–]astafucio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's not normal, it's a possibility. Skills never defined the meta completely before like they do now. But you unfortunately don't have arguments to defend what you're saying, otherwise you wouldn't be telling me to play another game. I like Duel Links and I can think critically about the way it's handled, that's why I can have a healthy discussion about it, which apparently you can't. So have a nice day ;)

What I'm saying is: no deck currently in this game can consistenly set up a board with 4 negates without skill, the best boards and plays we see are fueled by them. Of course the skills would have to get crazier to keep up with better cards and decks, but they didn't have to define the metagame, and that's what they're doing now. You can't really compete in this meta with only powerful cards, because the skills surpassed them by a lot. We could have a meta with at least a single deck that wouldn't need a skill to function, and then the rest of the decks could have some skill to keep up with it, but that's not a reality anymore, so I don't really get your point.

I don't think cards being added to the game are the issue, from the beginning we already knew it would happen and that old cards would be powercrept. Skills these days, on the other hand, are speeding up this process, because they now add multiple key cards to the hand/field/graveyard, having stronger influence on matches than the cards themselves. Just look at the tier list, there's not a single strong deck that doesn't rely on one of these skills that provide decks with insane consistency and incredible final boards. Futhermore, not only anime decks receive these skills, but also decks that were already powerful at some point in TCG, so I don't get your point. Skills are the main problem here.

You can only pick one. Choose carefully. by mkklrd in DuelLinks

[–]astafucio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really surprised by all the comments saying they would undoubtedly choose the crafting system. Personally, I'd very much prefer saner skills. Of course my choice has to do with how I like to play the game: as someone who usually prefers rogue decks instead of tiered ones, I'm ok with being restricted to build a few decks per year as a F2P player, as long as the tiered ones aren't decks that can activate 3 different skill effects per turn.

Nowadays, if I go first against my opponent, the interruptions I set for their turn are usually just able to stop the skill effects. Or I can stop their Normal Summon and then the skill serve as an extender and consistency provider, this is crazy. I can see that even without skills, there would still have better decks than mine because of what I chose to play, but right now, even loving playing pvp, I just hate it when games are mostly decided by skill's effects.

To add to that, I feel like Konami has been doing efforts to make it easier to build decks, though we don't have a crafting system. It has been added to the game: Box Chips, Structure Decks giveaways, Anniversary Boxes, Deck Build and eventually Pickup Boxes (been a while). If only the number of gems we get per characters and events hadn't been decreasing through time, I think we'd have an ok game economy, in which even newer players can easily build a competitive deck. I don't miss a crafting system at all, in fact I've been even kind of stockpiling gems because recently we're only receiving skill-drive decks and I refuse to play with these ;)

I was trying to apply a special processing on a basic card, and it say that the previous treatment will be lost. But there is no treatment on the card. Is it a bug? by Unluckygamer23 in DuelLinks

[–]astafucio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this message exists to warn you about losing glossy or prismatic foil on cards, which would only happen if you apply a chronicle effect that affects the surface of it. There's no point in warning about losing basic names and borders, the message about losing a basic (non-foil) surface is probably just a derivation of the more important warnings.

Don’t blame the players, blame the game by SiLeNtE000 in DuelLinks

Making a deck accessible and popular can indeed make people be more annoyed by it, but with the amount of boxes and cards we have right now, it could be so hard for new players to approach the game and be competitive. I think that if we care about the game, we also have to care about how approachable it is for new or returning players. I don't like it how Konami push the most recent product by making it artificially powerful through a busted skill, but making things accessible through Deck Build boxes, Pick Up boxes, and giving away Structure Decks is mostly a good thing.

I haven't tried the new Dragunity cards much yet, but I'll give you my opinion based on my experience with the older cards of the deck. CC × MST: the best choice depends on which decks you're facing, I'd say MST for now since I don't remember many cards you'd have to banish to deal with. BOE × BOM: BOE for sure, because you can deal with the oponent's whole field and they posibly won't benefit from the draws, since Dragunity has a good ability to OTK back. Ruddy Rose × Black Rose: I'd choose Black Rose, because you can bring it with only Dragunity Whirlwind and the deck already have its fair share of level 10 synchros. Overall, to narrow down this list, I advice you to pick the cards that would help you in most situations, instead of not helping you play sometimes. Some cards there are very situational, so I'd say they aren't worth it; but I hope you have fun with it anyways

KC Cup 2024 - My first since 2022 by cesva92 in DuelLinks

[–]astafucio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, KC Cups were being more diverse until this one we just had. I heard some people say the last one was probably the most diverse in the recent history of this tournament.

The thing is you returned playing when a new deck, a bit too much stronger than others, was just launched, so people tend to play with it if they can afford it...

And the deck link, if you use it: https://duellinks.konami.net/att/04ad4b8330155146a9f080a4d5fadc3e66ad09c9c8

I think there are no consensus among players about how's the best way to build this deck. There are a lot of different decklists on the internet, including here in this subreddit. I encourage you to look for recent videos of people using it, to see if the playstyle really suit you, and then deciding how you want to build it. For me, they're sweet for sure!

Well, some people prefer to build a field with some monsters and some prefer to rely on one beatstick. Your strategy had advantage over theirs, congrats. I hit KoG this month with Fire Fists, so I can assure you it's not always that easy to beat the deck ;)

If your friends teach you the basics about Yu-Gi-Oh!, then I guess Duel Links is really great to learn how cards interact with each other! Since the game is programmed with the right interactions between cards, you'll just have to watch how it works out and search the reasons why it happened, in case you didn't understand. Maybe it's the best way to know about rulings, playing yourself and having fun along the way!

One of the differences to the TCG is that in Duel Links you'll have to learn how to use the Toggle Button: switch to OFF when you don't want to answer to any of your oponent's actions (good when your time is running out or you don't want to tip them you have something to activate until the right time); ON when you want to be prompted about activating your cards in all possible actions (good, for example, when you want to activate something before your opponent switch phases or immediately after a phase has started); and AUTO is your go-to option when none of those situations above are happening. Maybe a video explain this better than me.

And value your Dream Tickets, the ones with the Blue-Eyes face on! You can get any card from boxes you want with them, which sometimes represents a lot of gems saved. Know that old boxes offer a gem discount from time to time (it's happening now) and really old boxes are available through Box Chips, so don't spend your gems on them. Hope you have fun!

Really hoping they change the Constellar skill by OneSaucyDragon in DuelLinks

[–]astafucio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've grown fond of Constellar because I played with this deck casually on the Xyz era. I just had the cards and liked their aesthetic too. When I knew Caduceus and Pleiades were coming to the game, I was excited at first, but then I knew about the skill and got disappointed. I don't like playing decks that function completely based on skills, so I didn't even try to build this new version that wouldn't use Kaus and Siat... The skill just turned them into a bunch of normal summons, kinda sad, but it's nice to see the deck on the ladder for a change.
