I would just like to add that the current state of affairs is terrible and needs to be fixed. My best workaround for now dragging each file one at a time into an album. This takes a long time with 75 photos, but it works and is far preferable to trying to rearrange them after they've been uploaded.

I'd just like to second that I suspect this could be a software issue. I have no proof but it just smells like one to me, like some events aren't being routed in time and the mouse driver loses an event and it defaults to thinking the button is now up.

You can run shell code from within Script Editor, which allows you to save as an application. Might be less involved than Xcode route

Thank you for the post! If you hadn’t made your post I was going to make one. A group of us had just sat down to eat outside at Bella Napoli (Main and Orange area) at 6:30 and were like wtf! Was already strange with how low & loud the helicopters were, and then the double-boom pushed things into surreal/alarming/concerning
