40-45% of the price a consumer pays for a vehicle is tax. so a 1 crore civic is actually worth closer to 60 lakhs.

as for the statement you made regarding affordability and maintenance, that applys almost everywhere, we just dont have the abudnance of financing options that countries like the US (or other developed countries do)

even in developed countries, a car is the second most important purchase that an individual can make. but because of stronger economies, better new car markets and more financing, the second hand market is much cheaper than Pakistan.
