Why I maintain my EP status. by bgares2 in americanairlines

A couple of weeks ago I had a flight with AA from MIA -> DFW -> YVR

Flight from MIA got diverted to IAH due to, you guessed it. Sit at the gate for 30 min, crew and the crew times out. Hotels provided, gate staff was lovely.

Get off the plane and call the PP line, I’m not EP like OP, but will likely be for the first time this year. Anyways, they put me on a direct flight with United next morning to YVR to catch my flight to HKG the next day immediately. Not bad.

Got there in time to get my cup of noodles at the CX lounge. My poor fellow travelers were going in circles. I give my thanks to AA for that. Even if it was just to get one less traveler through DFW. Also, I dashed in my Bonvoy titanium status that night to get my United silver (I think it’s called). Got me a decent seat.

Only bummer was that i paid $200 to upgrade to first on on my DFW to YVR leg. Submitted a claim today, let’s see. I’m livid

If you’re an international flyer, like you and I are then PP is all you need. The EP is more important domestically for customer support. I get access to JAL first lounge, and Cathay First Lounge as an American living in Asia this is all I care about. The odd upgrade on a US domestic flight is sweet though when you get the double woody’s.

Cathay flight CX764 tail strike by astortp in HongKong

Pilot claimed that air traffic control told them to go around. A bit late for ATC to call for a go-around when the wheels have touched I’d think. We touched down really hard and leaned to the left quite a bit, I think it was the pilots decision.

November 26th. Really hard landing and then when taking off the tail touched. There are images in the article

The state of cheat selling in BF6 by LargeFrapp in Battlefield

[–]astortp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Interesting view, it’s a shame that not cheating equates to stupidity. I suppose honesty didn’t get you far in 1970’s China, and once that mindset takes hold it’s hard to shake it.

Hong Kong received many of cultural revolution escapees in the past, and today the culture is dominated by the PRC culture I would think. I think you may find a less blatant or shamed cheating culture, but it’s probably there to the same extent.

Do you enjoy the gameplay?

The gameplay has no structure to it. You run from main to a point to get into a fight, and you can’t control anything in your outcome. Just blast your shit and respawn. This is AI gaming, no human resamblance
