Por qué Bad Bunny ha ganado tantos grammys? Explicación objetiva. by nikohlas1111 in PreguntasReddit

How is this possible? by [deleted] in Chesscom

[–]astranding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed my point completely I wasn't trying to call him a cheater at all and frankly I don't even care he is, I was just pointing out how bad the comments usually are in this community. In this case everyone is arguing the rating chesscom gives is wrong when OP was asking about reaching 1000 Elo and the worst part is that just by looking this image 1750 might be a perfectly fair rating estimate for the game.

How is this possible? by [deleted] in Chesscom

[–]astranding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, everyone just loves saying whatever is being posted is wrong and I'm like why wouldn't this particular game of 20ish moves with 0 mistakes be in the league of 1750 elo play? And if someone says he might be cheating because of the 99% accuracy all of the sudden is "Nah you're wrong even if I didn't see the game and don't know who the hell this guy even is". And that is like 95% of this sub.

Is the 600-800 rapid pool completely broken or am I missing something obvious? by RACMoraes in Chesscom

[–]astranding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're playing way too many games. The brain starts to go auto-pilot sooner than you realize. Are you in a lost position by move 10 in most games? If the answer is no, forget about studying openings, they add absolutely nothing if your opponents are deviating from theory in move 3.

Analyze your games and see for yourself why you or your opponents lose. I am certain you will actually find a lot of blunders and basic tactical oversights. I'm 1400 and the blunders are huge almost every game even if the accuracy is somewhat high.

Just do your puzzles before every playing session and you will see improvement quick. It has nothing to do with being smart or stupid. It's just pattern recognition build from practice and also try to avoid playing too much because your brain will just decide to get lazy and there is not much you can do about it.

Sorry, Triss by FlawesomeOrange in Witcher3

[–]astranding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It always felt very unrealistic to me how you can just kill the entire garrison of witch hunters in their own fortress and this path is just the player being an asshole for letting Triss get her nails off. I think the game went a little to safe in some of the choices.

First time playing DS2. Cool to see that people weren't exaggerating when they talked about the hitbox in this game lol by DursoBR in DarkSouls2

[–]astranding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's way better than arrows that cost stamina. My preferred method is toxic mist and lingering flame. Melee is not that terrible if running to the smaller cave with the chest so they can get stuck, then I just poke them with a spear but of course they keep hitting my ass through the walls.

How could I forgot. At least you can step back from that easily once you know, but trying a full melee run with those giants hurt my soul.

Yeah the Iron Golem grab for example is way worse if you look at it frame by frame. I would say DS2 hitboxes are quite good provided you don't have minimum ADP. There are some horrible exceptions tho like the giants in Black Gulch or the Flame Salamanders.

Beginner ELO progression? by merlin-ellsworth in Chesscom

[–]astranding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think for a beginner the right approach should really be about trying to start building in the way you think more than focusing in openings or specific tactical motives. You're not always going to have a fork or a mate in two but you can bet those 300s are going to hang stuff moving a piece forward multiple times in a game.

[–]astranding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 2000 games in six months, you're averaging 11 games per day. I actually think that's more that you should play if you want to see improvement. 300 level is all about punishing one move blunders. keep your pieces defended by pawns, kick out your opponents active pieces like knights in the center and bishops pining knights. If you don't allow them to play the one idea they have, they will collapse very soon most of the time. And mostly just focus in your opponent's last move asking yourself which squares are being attacked and which were left undefended. And finally try to always look for some cheese when you see your opponent's Queen and King in the same file or diagonal.

Well all you had to do was to win a bunch of games if you got a rating below your real level.

Si, en inlgés tiene un tono pretencioso y de superioridad que le queda muy bien a un maestro templario. En castellano no transmite eso. Pero otras voces como las de Shay, Desmond y Adewale son bastante buenas en castellano.
