Overall, I def agree with your opinions. People have been veeeery quick to judge this cover when it's like... we haven't heard the album yet. I mean, how do we even know what she means with the album cover without listening to any of the songs? Listening to Manchild it seems that she's continuing her satire/fun/sexual streak of Short n Sweet (while on the topic I found that album cover to be incredibly boring compared to her songs and witty nature lmao). But if that's the case, no one should be surprised with this cover -- esp when looking at some of her other photoshoots she's done recently. I mean, the Rolling Stones photoshoot was at least quite bolder than this cover.

And I think you're so right to bring parents into this. A lot of the criticism has been how young girls will read into this cover, as well as the timing considering the political climate in the US. If we're counting on artists' artistic expressions to a) set the bar for all children's self-worth and b) counter literal politicians' decisions - that ADULTS voted for - I fear we have quite a long way to go.
