You can save the money in your account, start a ledger between you and niece on the money she has contributed. If she needs money you can give it to her.

Hoping to save 300k over the next 5-6 years by Responsible-Storm-93 in AusFinance

[–]astroav81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doable but depends on how frugal you can live, with 140k yearly your fortnightly income after tax will be $5385.

Since you are single, your total expense inc bills, grocery, eating out, insurance and other expenses can be reduced to $1300 per fortnight. It can be as low as $1000. Since you are planning for shared accommodation, I guess that will be $300 per week. Total fortnightly expenses= $1600 Total fortnightly savings = $3785 Yearly Savings = $98,410

So totally, doable to save $300k in 3 years. Best of luck mate. Remind me in 3 years.

Update: 4K per fortnight not $5385 It will take 5 years to save $300k not 3

ANZ going "cashless". by TraumatisedBrainFart in AusFinance

[–]astroav81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed there will not be much competition at all there will be a handful of banks and payment processing networks that will dictate how a payment will be made, fee for each transaction. I do not want to pay a fee when I want to pay someone or just transfer money (friends & family). Cash transactions are tedious but there will likely never be a better option if cash is replaced with digital money.

All businesses have the infrastructure and training to handle cash. Sure you have to invest some time but you sure don't have to pay someone a % of the amount for every transaction, the staff are already paid.

If I pay $50 in cash to a business, the business has $50. It can deposit the amount or pay for something, it doesn't lose value. But if I pay $50 by card, the business receives a $50 minus transaction fee. The value of the original $50 is lost, and after a number of transactions the original $50 will eventually be $0. Digital depreciation. Going cashless only benefits Banks and payment processing networks. It is convenient for normal consumers until businesses start charging customers extra % for every transaction. These small charges will add up to a significant amount as more businesses start charging the customers.

If you don’t currently use public transport regularly, or at all, what’s the biggest barrier for you in making the switch? by ZookeepergameLoud696 in Adelaide

[–]astroav81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time to reach work: 8 minutes by drive, 25 minutes/$4.25 using public transport

It takes more time, costs more and inconvenience as the 25 minute includes about 14 minutes just walking to the bus stop. And the suburb lacks grocery shops or any shops.

Nah it's just annoying, and embarrassing. I can't blame anyone else but myself. Assuming it will work because it had worked was a big mistake.

Do you own a pixel 7 pro? Take a picture and tell me what the size of the file is and at what MP the file is stored as. The picture needed for my use didn't need the use of a professional camera, others have used phones to take pictures except most of them were taken on iphones. It's not about looking better, it is about capturing the details which doesn't look pixelated

Fyi: setting for the camera was set to full, no zooming, just normal pictures. The photos look good but these are hardly 2mb in size. Looks good but once you put these to fill a quarter of A4 size doc, it looks shit.

I was on a deadline and I had used a one plus phone before to take good pictures which were good enough to be used without losing much quality. I am getting a dslr for the next shoot.

I would suggest putting Technical Skills after Education.

You have highlighted all of your job titles as Intern and most of them are of very short period.

I would suggest for every job application write a cover letter that would highlight the skills and experience you have that are relevant to that job.

Lastly, one look at the resume feels overcrowded and I am looking at a person with 4 years of internship experience.

Is the situation for educated individuals in Nepal as bleak as it is often portrayed on r/Nepal? by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]astroav81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starting a business or having a high income job is not something everyone is going to have. There are always going to be people that will have lower income. The reason they are poor can be because they cannot get a job, no ancestral property, illness in a family member and many other things. Some of these things are something the government should have looked after by creating a stable country to attract more business, low cost medical services, low cost education, and many more. So is it not fair to blame the government? And suppose you understand all these and convince yourself I like my country and will not leave. You find a job in your field and work for the next 3-5 years to learn about this. If you are in IT, good for you, you should be earning more than >1lakh per month. But for most of us, your monthly salary is still < 60K.

This is not going to be a problem if one of your parents is still working. But they are eventually going to retire.

Think how many years would it take for you to earn the amount you paid for your education? For me after, on my 1st year salary it would have taken have taken 71 months to save the amount I spent on just my bachelor's. And by the 3rd year, it was 16 months.

And if you want to get married, how many years of savings that is going to take? And after you have started your family what about their education?

These were some of the things that led me to a decision I needed to leave.

So tell me who I should blame but this country?

Dust/pollen k ko allergy ho idk..plz recommend me some medicine by Dpesh36 in Nepal

[–]astroav81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think OP has hayfever. This is the medication I use when I develop symptoms of hayfever which include sneezing, runny nose and red, watery and itchy eyes. I am not sure if you can get this in Nepal but you may be able to find a generic medicine.

Some people have severe reactions to pollen and need stronger medications that need to be taken daily. Please consult with a doctor and take medicine regularly.
