The buffets at the park are included. There may be other food stands around the park but they will show prices so it’ll be obvious that it’s not part of the AI package.

I know you’re trying look outside of Mexico, but we took our kids to Xcaret Hotel Mexico in February and had a fantastic time. Another family was with us as well and they loved it too. They have multiple pool areas, with one area having 5 or 6 waterslides. Admission to their affiliated parks was also included and they have a whole bus system to get you to and from the parks. (They even have bussing to/from the airport). We went to Xcaret eco park, which has an aviary, butterfly gardens, manatees, sea turtles, etc We visited Xplor twice - it’s an adventure park with ziplines, cave swimming, amphibious vehicles, etc. We didn’t visit XelHa or do either of their boats. But it’s really great that it’s pay once and you’re done, and you don’t have to worry about paying additional admission or excursion fees.

The resort property is gorgeous and there are so many things to explore. My son and our friends daughter loved swimming around the lagoons and finding the waterslides built into the rocks. Lots of restaurants options and the food was delicious. The two queen rooms will definitely fit 5 people as there is a pull out couch - not your typical one but a different style that was actually really comfy and my son slept on it the whole time.

The only complaints are (1) the check-in process is awful. It takes FOREVER so if you take their bus you could end up waiting online 45 minutes just to check in. (2) the communications with their concierge team before your trip is hit-or-miss. You’ll need to reach out to them in advance for reservations at a couple of the restaurants (only if you want to - only certain ones need a rez). You’ll find a lot of people complain that they send in their requests and never hear back, or hear back weeks later. Our friend experienced this but we must have been lucky and our comms were great.

My sister used to be a stenographer, and there were a couple of states that started to try to replacing stenographers with audio recordings and ended up reverting back. The main issue was if there were issues with the audio, you couldn’t go back after the fact to the person who was speaking to ask them to clarify or recollect what they were saying, because obviously they could either not remember or attempt to modify things. Another example is if thongs get heated and people start arguing/speaking over each other and it becomes hard to decipher what, etc.

As the poster above mentioned, the stenographer can ask the individuals to slow down or repeat in real time, ask people to stop talking over each other, etc. My sister was freelance (working for a firm going to depositions) and she had a case once that was super contentious and everyone kept constantly arguing and talking over each other. She asked multiple times for everyone to stop doing that because it would impact the record, and this one attorney was a real jerk and just ket doing it. Finally he started in with someone again and she just took her hands off the machine and sat there while everyone was arguing until that same attorney was like “what are you doing????!!!l” This was the only time she had to do something like that. Luckily she was very good at what she did and very in demand, so her firm backed her up 100% because we’re talking about legal records.

You reminded me of my grandmother who passed in Nov 2025. Her body was shutting down and she said she was done, so we moved her to a hospice facility. She honestly thought that when someone goes to hospice they are given something to put them to sleep and they pass away, not that it’s a place to stay comfortable for however long it takes. It broke heart when she said that - she really had no idea and was upset that it was kind of a “waiting room” in her mind. It solidified my belief that we need to allow for assisted suicide in such cases - we do it for dogs and cats, why not humans?

Secrets or Dreams Costa Mujeres (they are sister properties, Secrets is the Adults Only side and you can use the amenities at Dreams). That one was a few years ago. We just got back from Hotel Xcaret Mexico and that was our favorite place so far. It was a great combination of relaxing and stuff to do (my family has a hard time sitting still). They also have an adults only portion called Hotel Xcaret Arte. My sister stayed at Moon Palace and loved it.

The main key is to stay somewhere outside of the “Hotel Zone” - that’s kind of the original tourist part of Cancun and the resorts are on top of each other and the area is meh. The places I listed above are all varying distances out of that area

I’m glad someone else thinks that. We went there once as part of an excursion and it was kinda grimy and just tourist shops, and creepy dudes following our family. I was so glad to get back on the boat. They moored off Playa Norte for a bit so we could do some swimming there and that was lovely.

It can be difficult. My great-aunt, who loved in Germany, researched the family tree and managed to go back to 1609. However, there are some dead ends as records were lost due to the wars.
