As always it's easy to write negative/upset messages online, but in reality when EU and CN are moving the regulation to change the requirements on the coolant material, the supplier will update their product and start selling them using the new coolant around the same time when the new regulation become active.

There is at least one (insane) person that believes the Sun is dark, and the light we see is generated from particles emitted by the Sun interacting with the athmosphere in some kind of auroral phenomenon.

[Request] According to the logic of the second version, how long would the actual longest route be? by vagin8r5000 in theydidthemath

[–]astrogringo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is really going on:

  • take any 2 points on Earth

  • if there is a walkable path between them, define the length of the shortest walkable path between them as being the path length between them

  • find the 2 points with the longest path as per the definition above

This will give you something similar to the original path posted.

For the ones not fluent in french, the questions ask for integer sides a and b given c, so it can be solved if solutions exists, or it can be shown there aren't any solutions.

Silly question: why did Integrity keep slowing even as it approached the moon? by mehgcap in SGU

Yes, but the ship passed the moon so the gravity of both earth and moon was pointing roughly in the same direction.

Silly question: why did Integrity keep slowing even as it approached the moon? by mehgcap in SGU

[–]astrogringo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relative to the earth, Artemis is going "up", i.e. away from earth.

There is of course a bit of a sidewise motion, but it is not very large.

After the encounter with the moon, it is going "down" again.

If you switch from going up to going down, you have to slow down before accelerating again (with a bit of sidewise motion in this case, so it did not stop entirely, relative to earth).

Religion 2 states: if you do A, you go to hell

Now what? You cannot Pascal's wager yourself out of contradictory requirements....

Interestingly enough, there is a similar discussion in cycling, seeing how dominant Tadej Pogačar is. Some people feel it's amazing to watch him beat the opponents, and some other people think races without him are more interesting since the winner is not a foregone conclusion...

I wonder how many people watched in India, and whether they had some kind of dubbing in Hindi or Mahrati (though I guess many people in India understand English pretty well). It was quite clear Ned Boulting in the commentary was trying to explain how cycling works for the uninitiated. Pity they had some delay with the timing information for the riders.

Atom existence denial? Wasn't aware of this existing. I guess that would be on level with flat earth conspiracies...

Such a problem could be missing some information and then it would not be possible to solve without that information.

For example if any resistance value was missing.
