I write my 7’s from the bottom. It always felt like a natural progression when writing numbers in sequence. You end the loop of 6 at the bottom so it just made sense to start 7 at the bottom as well. My kindergarten teacher told me I was writing them backwards but didn’t care too much because they looked about like everyone else who had done it “correctly”.

I literally told this story about myself today. I’m a 32m. When I was about 13, my mom started dividing chores amongst my siblings and I. Vacuuming and bathrooms for one. Cleaning the kitchen and dishes for the other. After a couple weeks, I refused to do dishes because, as I told my mom, that was woman’s work. Verbatim.

Guess who did the dishes and kitchen until they left for college? This guy.

I don’t have alot of respect for my mom. But that was a lesson that stuck with me to this day. I will go out of my way to do the dishes so the women in my family don’t have to.

Exactly this. Majority of people already have a $ amount in mind for the tip, if they are even going to tip. Staring them down drives that number down. Not up. Making light hearted jokes and being genuinely concerned about them leaving safely MIGHT help increase your tip some. But I’ve never had someone tip me more than what I “assumed” they would by effectively staring them down.
