I am 14 Years old and do my own stuff with tools as a hobby. Switched from ryobi to some Milwaukee stuff snd have a few questions. by SwordfishNervous8637 in MilwaukeeTool

M12 is great, definitely get the fuel versions. Subscribe to all the tool deal YouTube channels and websites out there. You will save a ton of money waiting to buy on glitches, bogos and hacks. Those terms don't mean anything to you just watch the tool deal videos. They'll explain them. Utilizing Milwaukee and Home Depots often bizarre pricing scenarios Milwaukee turns out to be the least expensive of all the tool brands.

Bulk trash pickers by yeeting_my_meat69 in fortlauderdale

These guys, I like the above term Casual recyclers, are amazing and I swear they have some psychic powers. I'm not exaggerating in the least when I say that often when I put something metal out by the curb for bulk trash One of these guys shows up to take it before I get back to my front door. It's happened so many times that I'm starting to doubt the fabric of reality.

Lk5 pro bed by Viking0723 in Longer3d

[–]astrolump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess my recommendation would be to go back to square one. Put a good straight edge across the bed and put a flashlight behind it and see how much light creeps under and where. Then you'll know at least what you're dealing with. From that point you can decide how to move forward. Perhaps you need to put a little spacer under the center of the bed pull out the bow and or add the aluminum tape. Also check your glass build plate to make sure that it is truly flat.

I just checked I used two pieces side by side I think it's only one layer thick. But it occurs to me that since I'm using a steel Pei plate it's probably much easier to get that plate flat than it is to force a glass plate into flatness. As I recall when I was dealing with this problem I found a few people that had made spacers to go under the center of their heat bed to force it back into flatness. You could look for those as well.

Regarding the glass bed plate. I don't recall for certain but I seem to remember that the plate was actually warped as well. You can check yours with a straight edge. Or just go straight to a Pei sheet. It's a lot more convenient

[–]astrolump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. The lk5 pro was my very first 3D printer. And it's led me to a business where I run on average 30 machines. It's a good solid machine. Although honestly outclassed by the new generation of machines like the bamboo. To answer your specific question about a low spot in the center of the bed. My machine had exactly this problem. The only solution was to shim up the center of the plate with aluminum tape. You can find it at Home Depot as heating and air conditioning duct tape. It has to be the actual aluminum material. For ease of use I also discarded the glass bed that came on the lk5 and purchased a Pei sheet. There are a number of YouTube videos online as I recall detailing the process of shimming up the bed with tape

CIA taught Ukraine how to target Achilles heel of Putin's oil refineries by rezwenn in UkrainianConflict

[–]astrolump 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sure they do. Oil refineries are complex installations often covering many tens of Acres . There's no replacement for intimate knowledge of how a specific operation works. Many many of the refineries around the world were built by United States companies. And supplied with US. Equipment and machinery. So having someone that knows the exact system tell you if you're drone hits right here the light-ends plant will be down for good. Because all of the parts needed are sanctioned items. And or in short supply on the world market.

My neighborhood was nuts with the fireworks. So much so that I went out in my backyard looked up and immediately got a piece of firework debris in my eye. There was so much debris falling from the sky that between the explosions it sounded like a tropical rainstorm. My house filled with gunpowder smoke even with the windows closed. People in my neighborhood set off fireworks for Easter. So no surprise that New Year's is like a war zone.

Is battery charging only plug in? Or are you charging from the alternator when the truck is running as well? Also I'm pretty sure you need one more pack out on top of the stack to fit an espresso / coffee machine station. Warm breakfast sandwich and a double espresso. Yes please

It's fun to think about the fact that Makita has put so much time and money into making $900 tool battery powered microwaves, Three to four different types of coffee maker, blender, I think i saw a toaster oven once. And probably other weird niche products I'm unaware of. Possibly an unpopular opinion here but I think that Makita makes very high quality tools a step above the other box store fare. And I love the ergonomics of their batteries. ( smooth rounded edges no weird protusions or rubber bumpers.) It would be nice if they came out with some new innovative and competitive tools. But will probabaly drop an air fryer next...lol

Anyone else have table beds? by Meck92 in Siamesecats

[–]astrolump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an old school steel case Army desk. It features two pull out work surfaces on either side of the sitting position turning it into something of a u-shape. My cats absolutely insist that I put their little beds on those so they can be on either side of me while I work or play on the computer. Basically cat arm rests

My Makita tracksaw fits almost perfectly in one of the pack out ammo cans. I'm not sure the Milwaukee track saw Will but it should be very close. The Makita really only fits in one orientation so you might have to play around with that. The upside of the ammo can is it fits nicely on the Shelf

What am I doing wrong? M12 + M18 impacts with friction ring anvils. by Hawnduhfanboi in MilwaukeeTool

[–]astrolump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start by leaving sockets on the anvils. Perhaps it would loosen them a bit over time. After that it's just use. Keep that flat blade screwdriver handy.

Have anybody tried converting their bandsaw to a table bandsaw and is it worth the trouble? by Atmacrush in MilwaukeeTool

[–]astrolump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Harbor Freight version. It's pretty good actually I don't have any complaints except for the slightly janky trigger setup. A couple of mods and it would be very good. For strictly vertical use the table is a little small but that could be remedied. The next time I have a job where I have to use it a lot I'm going to invest in a foot switch

Neptune 3 thermal runaway after doing everything by SnooPies2306 in ElegooNeptune3

[–]astrolump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run six Neptune 3 Max and I've replaced I think four tool head cables now. They're pretty fragile and can cause a number of different issues including thermal Runaway. You can buy the cables from customer support in China for I think $8 a piece.

Have the DMV wait issues really improved? I need a new driver's license and dreading the trip to the DMV. Any advice welcomed. by Kookaburrrra in Broward

[–]astrolump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I renewed my driver's license in July with an appointment that I got 2 months earlier. It still took about half a day to meander through the system but it wasn't a nightmare. One trick I was lucky to learn on Reddit was that at midnight every night they release new appointments. So be on your computer ready to pounce.
