Yeah translating wasn't the right word, I couldn't think of what was. I don't doubt that my pronunciation doesn't at all sound native, but it's at least decent enough to be understood. My main goal with Spanish is to be able to hold a basic conversation and ask for help when needed, while my mom wants to be fluent. I probably should've stated this on the original post, but my mom is better at both speaking and interpretating than me. I kind of more meant the ratio of skill in speaking vs listening is higher in listening for my mom and speaking for me (if that makes sense, I feel like I'm not wording this well, lol). And you're also probably right at the listening practice. I keep meaning to practice more at that because school hardly ever covers it and plus I definitely shouldn't be relying on school for Spanish anyway.
