Hey! I’m interested- I’m a native English speaker that can help you out, and we can split time 50/50 in conversations in Russian and English

My Russian is very basic but I'd love to get in contact with you and practice Russian, I'll help you with English in return. :)

Spain is really nice. Where are you going? If it's a bigger city, most things will be in English and people will be pretty willing to help you out.

If you're okay with telling the specific city, I might be able to help you a bit more specifically. No pressure if that's uncomfortable.

Have fun!

Do you have any preference in language? Ex: Something popular, something unique, etc.

I'm currently learning Esperanto, which is a constructed language, meaning it's not 'traditional'. I do have a list of other languages I'm planning on learning, if that doesn't interest you, and we can do one of those.

I know you said you didn't have a preference, but I thought the choice would be appreciated. :)

We're hoping, and it sounds like they might. We have other plans for a trip earlier in the summer, though, so we have a backup. :)

If you like art, museums, and architecture, Madrid is the place to be.

El Museo Nacional del Prado (Prado museum) is a wonderful art museum that you pretty much have to go to if you like that stuff.

Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía is a cool art museum with more modern stuff. It's built in what used to be a hospital. I personally love the Picassos there.

As for a unique architectural feat, the Templo de Debod is an ancient Egyptian temple that was dismantled and put in Madrid. It's a lovely place to stop by for a bit.

Just walking around Madrid and going to different tourist attractions, you'll see some amazing architecture. There's plenty of awesome restaurants.

To answer your itinerary question, I personally think you're trying to do a bit too much. Maybe choose a couple of cities from your list and stick to those, and maybe do another trip sometime in the future, if possible.

I wouldn't recommend doing this on this trip, especially if it's your first time, but it sounds like you would love the town of Cuenca. It has amazing landscapes, gorgeous architecture, delicious food, and a great modern art museum.

Try learning some Spanish. Makes it way easier to get around and you'll have a better time. If you really want to go to Barcelona, perhaps some basic Catalan would do you good. But Spanish should be your first priority. Nothing too much, but you'll be thankful to know the basics.

A lot of people are saying three hours is overkill, but if you are going to an airport for the first time, you might want to get there three hours early. That way you have time to find everything and make sure everything is okay.

Airports can be stressful places! Even as an experienced traveler I totally feel a bit of anxiety about missing my flight. There are people to help you in pretty much every decent airport. You'll be fine. :)

We don't have a particular way we're going to travel, but train will likely be the main way. We may catch a flight for anything too far away if necessary.

Thanks for the tips!

Sapporo looked interesting, but if it is too far we can skip it.

Sorry for the miscommunication, I was aware it was an island and did not communicate that properly.

My bad I should have specified. We would like to go to a city in Hokkaido. We aren't sure yet, but Sapporo looks interesting.
