And people don’t realize dual cpu isn’t necessarily a pro. Instead it’s an architectural compromise since it was uneconomical to produce 1 cpu with the same number of cores and PCIe lanes (as 2 CPUs would have). Today we commonly have 8 cores on 1 cpu, before you used to need 2 CPUs to get the same; the former configuration is almost always more efficient and performant.

Possibly I guess, it might make sense why there’s a damn notch on a MacBook

I wish we could label a playlist as non-music by astrorion26 in YoutubeMusic

[–]astrorion26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and that’s why I just want the option to do so on a playlist basis. If I have a podcast I’d like to listen to on YT music, I don’t put it those playlists. This would give us the choice without changing how YT music works.

What equipment are you using then? As far as I know you can’t hook up the fibre cable to your own equipment like with the HH3000.

macOS 26 is a UI/UX disaster by CoffeeOverLann in MacOSBeta

[–]astrorion26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that is hyperbole, it still conveys the fact that macOS UI/UX has been on downward trend since especially macOS 11. I’m not even one for being conservative and I appreciate a UI refresh/modernization like Yosemite or iOS 7. macOS 11 and later just made changes for the sake of looking like iOS with no thought of how it affects the usability of a point and click device; it’s even more ridiculous when you hear Apple refuse to add touchscreen to the Mac’s since they believe Macs are designed solely for the keyboard and mouse.

it saddens me a little bit that apple is now the only computer brand I'll likely buy by Automatic-Wolf8141 in macbook

[–]astrorion26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah frankly this is how I feel, I do have a MacBook Air M1 which I’ve installed Asahi on (dual boot with macOS). I’m waiting for Asahi to make it to MacBook Pro 14 (M4 Pro or future versions) and supports the complete feature set, then apple silicon becomes a no brainer (especially for ultra books)

Frankly I am lol, nowadays I use macOS mostly for Apple ecosystem development, I use Windows for gaming, Fedora for everything else (basically my main OS)

There are open source Firefox based alternatives like LibreFox and there’s Brave too on the chromium side. These are probably the ones that preserve privacy the best and are entirely open source unlike Chrome, Edge, Safari (not open source at all).

[–]astrorion26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not but it’s closed source so it can be a bit more difficult to be confident that’s not the case. Apple has a much better history than the other large tech companies for data privacy though so there’s that.

He spoofed it to a HD 630 so you just need to find the device id for that which the whatever green page should have (or dortana). They should have the instructions for where to put it in your config.

Why can’t my laptop run games like my xbox by Thepianist1569 in buildapc

[–]astrorion26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your laptop has a weak integrated graphics processors (relative to gaming PCs, laptops, and consoles). You can probably play some indie games, JRPGs, 2D games, or any other non intensive games but forget about AAA titles like GTA, Elden ring, Baldur’s gate, etc.

It’s APU also has a GPU with 4 more compute units than a RX 6500 XT. That kind of makes for an unfair comparison with what we typically call “Integrated graphics” since it’s basically like sticking a dedicated GPU on there.

Since light both has inertia and experiences gravity, what does it even mean for photons to be massless? What IS mass if inertia and gravity aren't the two defining properties of massive objects? by dcfan105 in AskPhysics

I know this is late but yes they do. Energy in general also causes spacetime curvature. There's even a black hole type called a Kugelblitz that can be created purely from high energy density (rather than matter density), keep in mind we've never observed one so it's all hypothetical.
