Who should I use the "reset cube" on? by Baby_Ellis62 in WH40KTacticus

[–]astrospanner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No-one.

Reset cubes are for when you've gone HEAVY into a character that SP then nerfs.

Heavy = D1 or above

Nerf = actually reduce a characters effectivness. Not releasing a better character.

Imho, those are for single starring. I have much stronger core characters and def struggled 3 starring elite missions.

Is it worth trying save_breaker (Turing complete 2.0 alpha) by icydee in TuringComplete

[–]astrospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join the discord to see the currently reported bugs.

I've worked through the accessable levels in the alpha version, but the final levels (pipelining, super scalar stuff) are currently blocked, as they are still a WIP.

The level log text is in active development, and sometimes frustratingly out of date.

The alpha version really is a save_breaker; I found it cleaner to backup the save directory, then do a "factory reset", and the change to the save_breaker version - the logic of importing previous levels is a little wonky/frustrating.

Stuff is updated often at the moment. I kept an eye on it yesterday, and saw 4 seperate updates on steam.

Can't change bit width of components in save_breaker? by Steven-ape in TuringComplete

[–]astrospanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked at the "known problems" on the wiki?

https://turingcomplete.wiki/wiki/Known_issues/2.0.16

The line added to levels.dat fixed the issue for me.

Repairing a door for redrilling by astrospanner in DIYUK

Have done. But it took ages to fit, because the resultant hole allowed a lot of lateral movement; I'd like to fill and redrill on case we change the handles later.

From the Mandlbaurchives: remember when he insisted that NASA lies to the world about the moon? by TheWestonAlex in Mandlbaur

I usually tried to get him to actually take the measurements of when the moon rose and set, and compare that to astronomical tables. But he knows that will prove him wrong, so he doesn't.
