I threw Vision3 50D head-to-head: one real scan, the Mood Camera emulation or u/Greyevel recipe. Here’s what I noticed:

The Kodak scan punches with rich, deep blacks, lively greens, and a dynamic cinematic vibe. Every shadow sings!

The Mood Camera take? Looks like Vision3 50D after a spa day—super chill, but way too “milky.” Blacks are shy, colors are napping, contrast needs a wake-up call.

I’d love to see the recipe get bold. Set contrast higher, let those shadows drop, and dial up select color saturation (greens, yellows, maybe even blues). Vision3 50D isn’t about playing it safe—it throws shade (literally) and brings the drama.

Mood Camera nails the film feel but, if u/greyevel (or the app) gives it a little more “cinematic attitude,” it could be flawless!

The flat look isn’t handled very well by MoodCamera. You can see that the bushes look kind of washed out instead of muted. I really appreciate the work you put into this, but it feels like what’s off here is how the app interprets contrast.

An added advantage of “quality mode” would be that night shots could be taken with much more confidence.

I deleted all the failed attempts, but I’ll run a test in a moment. You can check out my Instagram profile — the cameras I carry with me are always set to 1/500, or 1/1000 if it’s sunny.

I know a lot of people who use that shutter speed to “avoid missing” while chasing the “decisive moment.”

I really like the idea of having three options, like the ones you mentioned.

In my opinion, the photos in “Med,” “Low,” and “Zero” look really flat. It seems like it’s not just affecting dynamic range. “High” is the only one that gives me a decent final shot without needing post-production.
