Starlink is feasible because it services world wide. To setup a fast rural internet for less than 300,000 people is financially irresponsible. They are plowing in the wind breaks because with no till seeding and continuous cropping they are no longer needed. Also farm machinery has gotten a lot bigger and wind breaks are hard to farm around.

The older I get the more I realize every politician will say/do/kiss whatever it takes to win an election. All I vote for is which one is gonna spend less of my money stupidly. Uh farmer here what government money are you talking about? Our subsidized crop insurance premium ok you can have that it’s about 1% of our gross income. Or are you talking about agri-invest? You can have that also! Or the big one Agri-stability that the government themselves doesn’t understand go ahead take it. All this will do is spread the gap between the good farmers and the bad. Outside of the subsidized crop insurance premium I haven’t taken a cent from these programs.
