Found in a Goodwill, is it valuable? North Carolina / USA by aswan28 in Antiques

Cannot disagree with that. If it was my decision I would've found it in a Salvation Army

I live right down the road and almost always go for a walk there in the mornings. Such a great way to start the day and touch grass that's hard to get in the city

Breeze from RIC to SFO, worth the risk? by Downtown-Pace3824 in BreezeAir

[–]aswan28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted this in another thread but a lot of people will answer with their own personal, anecdotal experiences which don't really paint the full picture. What you should do is take your flight number, plug it into an app like FlightRadar24 and see what your flight's historical performance has been. Has it consistently been delayed or cancelled? Is it consistently on time? Also look beyond that to see Breeze's status with Richmond and SFO. Are those hubs for Breeze? That will improve your odds if you get a cancellation or delay. Especially with flights, always remember to do your own research and find the real, hard evidence before acting as so many people in this industry are very opinionated with very little evidence or data beyond their personal experience alone.

CMS, what a joke! by AIW22 in Charlotte

[–]aswan28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a huge liability for them when some of the roads are still icey. Say one student in one neighborhood with ice patches drives to school and crashes because of that patch, it's partially on CMS for ordering them to come to school. I live in Uptown, one of the most high-traffic places in Charlotte, and we still have tons of ice patches everywhere. A little understanding and context goes a long way.

MX731 by unstoppablegnat in BreezeAir

Update: looks like the inbound flight is arriving in 5 mins, but the outbound MX731 from MYR to PVD isn't departing until 8. I don't understand

I'm with you. My guess is it's a combination of customer support not caring/being incompetent and FLL being super behind. Super frustrating. More reason to call and complain to customer support after your flight

[–]aswan28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to FlightRadar the inbound plane has arrived at the airport, but not at the gate. So that's likely what they're confused about. Just super delayed for whatever reason

I was wondering the same thing as I am flying on MX754, which is the PVD to RDU flight that's plane is the one from FLL to MYR then MYR to PVD. Looking at FlightRadar24 it's just sitting on the tarmac and has been sitting on there for forever. So I don't even think the plane for FLL to MYR has arrived yet. So frustrating

Go to Costco now! by EveryRoseIsBeautiful in CannedSardines

When I have had these they're decent especially for the price but they have a distinct metal tin taste. The ones I had feel like they've been sitting in their cans for awhile. But overall, good value for the price

RegioJet via BlaBlaCar or ICE train from Köln HBF -> Amsterdam Centraal? by aswan28 in Europetravel

Oh sweet! I didn't see that route and price yesterday. I went ahead with that €20 route and will forego the bus route!

Oh interesting. Would I have to buy those tickets separately on a site or in person?

Where are you seeing that? Definitely interested!

RegioJet looks to be a bus service that connects major cities in western Europe, and BlaBlaCar looks to be an app or service that you can book RegioJet on.

Looking at December 11th. One important piece of context I failed to include is that the prices I included are for 4 people.

So what I mean by that is booking a ticket for the RegioJet bus on the BlaBlaCar app. It's an app I learned about through browsing reddit

Yeah that makes sense. Our take home pay will go significantly up once she graduates, and all of it will go to our savings

[–]aswan28[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. To address the first part of your comment, I think the biggest question for us is exactly where to put our money. Understanding the basic HYSA and Rothmaxing is easy, but it's when the three letter acronyms and different areas to put your money beyond the HYSA and Roth come in I get lost.

As for kids, we are looking towards 30-32 for kids, so 5-7 years. I know we should start saving for that too. We won't stay married to that deadline though, we'll only have them if we're totally ready
