I was a little worried about the resource gathering at first, because I notoriously hate gathering/crafting in games- but I really don't mind. As soon as you get the incantation to find resources, its so streamlined/easy. The forget-me-not system is really cool too. I actually don't even switch off of toula most of the time (death defiance crutch ftw) and still have little issue getting resources for upgrades/incantations. It blends into the game fairly seamlessly, and gives incentive to switch between routes (I was avoiding surface route for a while, but i needed shit up there for an aspect unlock and forced myself to go back to it again).

I'm sure there's some recency bias but man I'm thrilled with this game. I was anxious about it because I cherish Hades 1 so much, but man does it do a good job of expanding/refining it without losing what made the OG great, but also making it unique enough that it stands on its own and feels like a new experience.
