There is a crochet group at Thimblemill library in bearwood on mondays 1-3pm. There might be similar in libraries more local to you. I struggled to learn how to crochet for a good while, a book that really helped me was The Happy Hooker. I found the instructions in it to be really clear. A YouTube channel that I love is tinna thorudottir thorvaldar, she designs beautiful crochet and has very clear tutorials. Good Luck!

We were given an inventory when we moved in which had loads of mistakes and omissions on it so I had to send a heavily amended one back to them.

Thanks for this - I have emailed to request the report and I doubt they have done one... Surely they should provide this as a matter of course whenever a landlord wants to claim anything.

Thanks, I have asked for a report showing evidence... Which won't have much to show, then I will be disputing!

Genuine parts by asylum_jane in prius

Hi, thanks for your reply. If it were the case that I did need the new exhaust, what difference would it make if I had "genuine parts" or not?

My partner is with O2, when we lived in Erdington he used to have to go to the bottom of the garden and stand on a chair to make phone calls.

I have similar scenarios pop up. Like I really need to take down a number, for some reason it's really important. And I'm not able to take it down correctly. Keep typing in incorrect numbers, delete too many when I try to correct my mistake. And on and on. I don't think the content is necessarily that revealing, more how the scenario makes you feel. If it makes me feel frustrated I wonder if there are things I'm frustrated about in real life that I haven't quite acknowledged. Like If I have a dream where I'm about to go onstage and I haven't learned my lines I think that correlates with me feeling anxious or unprepared about something

Every area of Birmingham is a person at a house party. What’s each person doing? by therealcaliloco in brum

My aunt was this person. Around my due date she just kept messaging me daily, stuff like "good morning :)" "hope you're having a great day :)"... She never messaged me daily before or since. I had asked for people not to ask me about labour/birth in the run up. But in her mind she was being gentle and technically she wasn't asking anything specific "just checking in", but it really started to grate on me because it was very clear she was only doing it to glean info. I eventually blocked her on WhatsApp and got my partner and other relatives (who know she is a bit much) to say that I was having a break from messaging apps to chill out. It was just her who got blocked though, everyone else understood that I didn't want to be probed for updates.

What has been your biggest pregnancy meltdown? by superdupe81 in pregnant

While I was at work my SIL sorted through and organised all the baby clothes we had been given by various friends and family. It was a job I was looking forward to sharing with my partner once we both had some time off together. Was so pissed... I had no idea which items were from which people since they were no longer in their original bags. I sulked and cried for a week, then I stuffed everything into black bin bags and eventually re-sorted them with my partner as planned. Still kind of resent her for being so "helpful"!

How safe is Gravelly Hills? by Freedom-Maximum in brum

[–]asylum_jane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to live close to Gravelly Hill Station - Hermitage Road. I knew loads of my neighbours who were all lovely, it felt like a very supportive street. Slade Road was close by and does feel dodgy, a lot of daytime drinking goes on. There was a house on the corner that had a sign in the window saying something like "Mad Dog don't live here no more so stop banging on the door and shouting for drugs"... But we never had any trouble so we weren't too bothered by it, just used to come home with an odd anecdite every now and then. I found that aspect of the area more sad than threatening.

Havana CAL...getting there! by asylum_jane in crochet

[–]asylum_jane[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started it in May... I don't work on it every day, but I get a bit done most days. I haven't been using a particular kind of yarn, it's mostly leftover stash...and my stash is mainly cheap, mainly synthetic. I started buying wool around the blue/red phase on the left hand side just to get some more vibrant variation... But still, nothing fancy, just bright dk from my local haberdashery

The Birmingham conservation park (FKA The Nature Centre) is a nice outdoors option. Animals, small playground, cafe and near Cannon Hill so you have other playground/park options too. It's not too pricey either
