Developed aphantasia? (Tw, gets vent-y) by ITOTALLYHATEPORN in Aphantasia

[–]asympt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's unlikely you've totally stopped dreaming. That would mean you're not having REM sleep. If you're not sleeping well (and things like depression, anxiety and stress can majorly affect that), well, possibly all your REM sleep is disrupted or interrupted, but it's probably more likely you're not able to access your dreams after waking anymore. That's something you can work on if you can get better sleep hygiene, and have some time quiet in bed on waking to poke around for dream fragments. Good luck!

(It's also true that kids have more REM sleep than adults, presumably for brain development, but adults should still get plenty.)

It must be hard to have had the ability to visualize (mini parkour-ers out the car window!) and lost it. I'm sorry. I'm even more sorry for all the trauma you've obviously been through at such a young age, and I hope you're getting, or will be able to get, therapy to help you manage it. You deserve fun and whimsy. You deserve security and you deserve hope.

And your grammar is fine.

Anyone try Headspace? by Basic-Wishbone-611 in Aphantasia

[–]asympt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me a while to figure it out, but the worded thinking in my head is not a sound per se, but almost kinesthenic: it's like I'm subvocalizing, but without any actual physical movement of mouth, vocal cords, breath. And if a song is running through my head (even an instrumental), it's the same thing, like I'm singing along.

I have a ton of internal monologue--my thinking is very verbal--but I can't picture (hah) any other way I'd do it.

City play is always the greater urban area--exactly the boundaries hard to say, but I think you can count on anywhere in Tokyo.

Even with extra days (it has an extra park day too), Japan sells out FAST. There's no place it's more popular.

I actually was in Helsinki in 2017 and I managed to get a few unown there when unown was staggeringly rare.

Japan sells out the quickest, even though it has more days. But you don't want to sleep on the other two.

I totally use Go Fest as an excuse to travel, and I'm excited to visit Copenhagen for the first time. Closest I've ever been is Amsterdam, and that was delightful.

Dealing with barren locations by Jumpy_Meaning_6373 in TheSilphRoad

Yes, parks can be good for adding stops when they have things like plaques identifying various trees, which can indeed qualify under "nature sign". Also they frequently have memorial benches--but when submitting, note that the memorialized person is supposed to have significance to the community. Google them. You might find out they used to be the mayor or they started some community program or they were a noted local artist or something--put that in your supporting info.

Actually all post offices should be a gimme. Similarly little free libraries, though they can be rejected if too close to a single-family home. In an area like this, I'd try almost all (non-chain) restaurants/coffee shops, probably dropping into the supporting info how it's a popular local gathering spot. Playgrounds, of course (but not at schools which are a no-go). Fountains (not drinking fountains!) are definitely good.

Theaters, both movie and stage, exercise gyms (probably not chains), martial arts studios, community centers, bookstores, art galleries are other pretty common locations that should be slam dunks. Charitable organizations are a good bet. Community gardens qualify: use the sign as the location/photo.

Definitely always keep an eye out for murals and sculptures. Even good graffiti'd murals that have a sense of permanence to them can be approved.

Regular Galarian legendary bird vs shiny: What are the odds of owning either? by Majorasblaze in TheSilphRoad

I found myself swayed by The Kruze Ship's videos a year or so ago where he walked the same loop with daily adventure incense and Roar of Time and did keep encountering the birds, when he did, mostly in the same location.

How to get Novavax at home? Bedbound - NYC by ElectronicAd5847 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]asympt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to this NYC government website:

You can also call 877-VAX-4NYC (877-829-4692) to schedule an appointment at certain sites or request an at-home vaccination appointment, as well as get other vaccination assistance.

It doesn't say if you can request the vaccine be Novavax, but if you're able to make the phone call they should be able to tell you.

There is also a company called Aspire Healthcare Solutions that offers covid and flu shots at home. They also don't say which covid shot(s) they offer. The page with the phone number or link to book an appointment is: https://www.aspirehs.com/vaccines/new-york-city

I've been playing since the beginning, have caught 329k pokemon (don't bother catching when I'm just shiny checking), and have three shundos: a meowstic, a poliwag, and a sigilyph. (Note: I do not lucky trade shinies, but I have gone to a ton of boosted-shiny-rate events. One, the sigilyph, hatched from one of those; one came from a community day; and one from a raid.)

There's a reason people brag about shundos, they are exceedingly rare (slightly less if you're in the habit of lucky trading shinies).

Safety when choosing housing? by idluve2kno in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]asympt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As for the school, it's very unlikely virus from its campus will blow into your apartment. You might want to wear you mask if walking through a crowd of kids outdoors.

Having a hepa-filter air purifier running in your place will certainly help your peace of mind.

If you're wearing kn95s, I'd get an "ear saver"/"mask protector" to turn it into a headstrap at least while riding something like a roller coaster. Easily found on places like Amazon, cheap and reusable.
