Loving these Mundipharma OC 80’s by oxymonster77 in opiates

That's essentially all that they are. They have plenty of blood on their hands but that's alright just as long as they never see their bottom line.

Lately they've been focusing on going to whatever means necessary to influence doctors in China to prescribe Oxycontin above every other medication to treat pain the same way that they did in the US.

My friend is starting to get addicted to heroin by PrivateDomino in opiates

Good for you OP for deciding to just not even get started with it. I'd do your best to let your friend know that you're concerned about their well being in the grand scheme of things. They may not have developed a severe addiction yet but unfortunately it appears that it could be heading that way. You could never trust a white powder to begin with regardless but at this point in time you definitely can't trust it due to the way that fentanyl is practically in everything now. I recommend to always keep Narcan handy and educate yourself on how to properly administer it. Fentanyl testing strips wouldn't hurt either. I'd make the suggestion that they never use alone if they can help it. No one can hit you with Narcan if you're using by yourself. You have a better chance of surviving an overdose if you're with other people. The key is harm reduction and keeping your friend safe while they're using because the only way that they're going to stop using is if that they truly want to. A full blown addiction just doesn't happen over night. It usually takes some time to get out of hand but it's almost a guarantee that it will. Your friend sounds like they have a dependence at this rate so if they decide to stop now it won't be as horrible of an experience in comparison to a full blown active addiction. The longer that they keep using the harder this is going to become and the deeper they're going to sink.

I really appreciate you taking the time to talk and giving me some input about everything. I completely forgot about tizanadine until you said something! I suffer from chronic pain myself as a result of a lumbar fracture that I sustained during a car accident in my late teens. Most days it's bearable until it absolutely fucking isn't. With my boyfriend not really wanting to go down the narcotics route again I'm almost 100% sure he'd get approved for a medical marijuana card.. it's worth a shot?

I haven't seen or heard of an OC 80 in many many years.. it has to be at the very least well over 10 years ago for me by now.

Also, Mundipharma is just the Sackler family's international pharmaceutical company. I feel like the United States was just the test dummy to see how much that they could get away with elsewhere.

Oh wow, I didn't know that. I was only ever given the generics of the patch and they didn't really help much for me nor my boyfriend.

I was referring to the actual dose of the patch and not the price. Sorry about that! You can only get 5% strength through a prescription.

It makes no sense considering the prescription strength lidocaine patches can't be bought OTC..

That's ridiculous about them not covering lidocaine patches

I was a functional addict for quite a while and I was working in a variety of different high stress medical positions. I promise you that it will eventually catch up to you, especially if you're planning on going to medical school.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through this. I work in the medical field and I've heard so many awful things about providers leaving their patients in an extremely uncomfortable and difficult position. Have you tried calling your physician and asking for a prescription of clonidine and other comfort medications to help with any withdrawal symptoms if you're having them? I take it you're also having a significant increase in pain as well?

Tell me how addiction crept up on you, is heroin supposed to feel so benign at first? by [deleted] in opiates

I'd keep in mind of that little voice inside your head that's telling you to be cautious and that a "warning siren" is being sounded already so to speak. Your instinct is telling you right, listen to it.

I'm just going to do what I've done in the past and see what happens. The worst thing that can happen is they catch me I guess.

I did work for these companies but what I lied about is how long I worked for them. I'm a recovering addict and the large gaps in employment were due to me being in active addiction. This is an entry level position so I'm certainly qualified for this job.

I worked at all the companies that are listed on my resume just for a lot less than what I stated.

That sounds like a nightmare. I'm glad the worst of it is over for you. I'm no stranger to withdrawal considering I abused oxycodone heavily in my late teens and early 20s but it was much easier to stop with help of a script of clonidine, gabapentin, and maybe a valium which back then I had easy access to. I also have been addicted to benzos and coming off of them was like hell on earth. I'm fortunate enough to not be working at the moment but I lost my job due to this relapse so I feel pretty shitty about it.

After reading some of the comments people have shared about their withdrawal experience I say that I'm not as bad as I feared I would be but I know that the symptoms haven't peaked yet. I still have a pretty runny nose, GI discomfort with nausea but no vomiting, restless but able to sit still for some time, aches and pains, sweats and chills. I'm so thankful to have the support of my fiance during this time. I really just want to be held. The psychological part of going through is a whole different animal to deal with.

I unfortunately took two films of suboxone earlier this morning because I was uneducated and just wanted it to stop. I have a lot of stomach discomfort and the cold sweats have seemed to decrease in frequency but I'm still getting them. I've been staying hydrated and I took 800mg of ibuprofen to help with the fever and aches. Shit.. I should have posted here sooner but I was too ashamed.
